How to Stack Frigidaire Front Load Washer Dryer.

Below is a link to purchase a mounting kit:
www.amazon.com...
In this video I will do a step-by-step of stacking a Frigidaire front load washer dryer. The washer and dryer I had were already mounted to individual pedestals. As a result I was able to transfer the hardware used to secure the machines to their pedestals to stack them securely together. The hardware can be purchased online for about $10.00.

Thank you so much for posting this. I had to figure out how to UNstack my Frigidaire washer and dryer and didn't know where to start until watching this. Now I have my unit broken down and can get rid of my dead washing machine. Thanks again!

I bought a new washer and dryer but this was the same model as my old one. Used the video to figure out how to unstack and reassemble the top so I could remove the old unit. Great that this guide was available.

This video was extremely clear. I appreciate the various angles and close ups of the areas of work, and the time lapse for shortening certain parts. Good sound too! Thanks.

This was great - I knew it wasn't rocket science, but you were very explicit, and amazed me at just how simple it was! Broke them apart - ready for the new washer! (I especially liked the "do not do this" portion, as I was thinking of trying it myself...I took your advice) Thanks!

Thank you ..I wanted to unstack mine but the lid of the washer is no longer in the house so it was your video here that keeps me from doing useless work...If there is no lid anywhere in the house I might have to buy one which I will not do. I am leaving it stacked, therefore and go to Millertime straightaways without spinning my wheels! I do want to remark on your excellent communication skills and your ability to express precisely what you want to say. Great job!

My Frigidaire washer/dryer (Frigidaire Gallery Washer FWT445GES2 and Dryer FSE747GES1) was professionally stacked, and the two rear brackets are screwed on to the washer differently than Dave does it at the end of this video. The two rear brackets are each held on to the rear of the top of the washer by two screws, using the screw holes closest to the front of the brackets. (None of the unused screw holes on the rear brackets line up with any screw holes on the washer, unlike Dave's experience.) Those four screws and screw holes end up under the back edge of the dryer, which means the two rear brackets must have been screwed onto the rear top of the washer BEFORE the dryer was slid back into its final position. In other words, to screw them on (or unscrew them) the dryer must be about 2 inches forward of its final stacked position. This means the two screws at the bottom of the front of the dryer must be screwed on as the last step, after the dryer is slid backward into its stacked position... not the second-to-last step. Like Gabriel Daigle implied in his terse comment 4 years ago (2017?), two screws per bracket are better (stronger) than one. Hopefully it's not necessary, while sliding the dryer backward to mate with the rear brackets, to tilt the front of the dryer up a few degrees to pass freely over the front brackets. (I may find out soon, because I want to inspect the pair of springs inside the top rear of the washer that hold up the rear of the tub, because the tub has been rocking violently at the beginning and ending of spins. The shock absorber legs below the front of the tub appear intact. The shock absorber legs might have become weak, but before I order a new pair for about $60 I think it makes sense to first inspect the springs.)

Thanks for your comment it really helps the YT community. Also if you end up needing to replace a spring try to replace both. Life expectancy for both springs are really close.

My Frigidaire washer stopped filling and the pump now runs dry and is obviously noisy. I'm wondering if I can buy a similar looking used Frigidaire washer and swap dryers. Did they keep the stacking hardware and bolt holes the same year after year? Or do I need to find the same year washer or the dryer won't line up?

I'm not sure if different models will stack the same way. However there are straps for stacking washer dryers that a pretty versatile. The only thing is the straps aren't visually pleasing. I hope this helps.

I've never seen a washer stacked on dryer. Usually it's on the bottom because it's the heavier build and water adds even more weight.

  • @DoItWithDave

The washer top cover will need to be removed when stacking the units. The brackets from the cover top can be reused for the back mount. If your dryer was previously on a patalstool than the mounting brackets on the front of the patalstool can be reused as front mounts when stacking the units. So if you already have that type of set up than there is no need to purchase mounting hardware. If not than yes the hardware would need to be purchased. Ebay for like $10.00. You may find a local appliance store that carries the mounts. I hope this help. Thank you for watching.
