Trial-and-error is fine if you’re a sponsored shooter. For the rest of us that’s a really expensive proposition-though one wholeheartedly supported by the industry, no doubt!

So just go to a shop and shoot a bunch of different setups or borrow from club members?

@@elobiretv No shops or clubs within hours. And I don’t want to just go ask folks I don’t know to try out their gear. I think I’ve about decided on a setup though. Thanks!
This needs to be titled.... What is a stabiliser system on a recurve... There's no real information on setup or effects when making changes

He mentions that changes to the overall weight means longer aiming time in windy conditions. He mentions how longer rods require less weight and shorter rods require more weight. He mentions how an extender brings the balance forwards, and you can infer that shorter extension does the opposite. He mentions that adding a shock absorber to the end of the long rod eliminates vibration after the shot. Sure there's more to stabilizers than that, but it's a short video. I think he gave a lot of good information in the given time.

James Badger it's very basic information about the stabiliser system, there's no cause or effect which is the basis of a "setup" It's so generic that you can trial and error what you like for your setup and feel If I wanted to trial and error it then yeah I'd happily carry on, but with finite resources it would actually be helpful for a setup video to actually contain information that could be used to help SETUP YOUR stabilisers I totally understand it's a very personal thing but even the slightest setup information with regards to why and what exactly you're trying to dampen would have been greatly appreciated Any ratios used front to back as a starting point, and how this relates to balance and bow aiming rotation at full draw How the stabiliser length could be related to arrow length This is setup information.... Not, this is an extender and it can range from 3 to 6 inches and I used the longest... Why???! I'm sticking to my comment that this isn't a how to setup your stabiliser system... Its a video on what a stabiliser system is if you want to put one on your bow If it helped you to "stabilise your bow" then great... I've not picked up anything that wasn't already known
The only video on KZread with 0 dislikes. Let's keep it that way.
like the video! good for beginners and easy to understand for anyone :) also .. freaking love his accent! :D
i dont want to be "that" guy .. but you better dont quote "i currently have 6 inches, so i suggest a person would probably try 4 or 5 inches .. just to get the feel" :D

that moment when you dont want to make the comment but it just cant be unheard haha.
How to choose length of long rod...
Wow neat. I don't think I want a kickstand on my bow though.
Anyone know what stabilizer setup that is? He never says it

the moment he called the side rods "the v-bar" is when I gave up, knowing this dude knows shit about his equipment. Most likely a coach stabilized his bow...ridiculous.
I don’t understand pushing the side bars that far forward. The weights should be behind the the balance point to reduce the weight on the nose. Seems counterproductive. Go look at Brady Ellison’s setup. It’s on the riser. Maybe it’s a feel. Some use 3” but 6” seems too far. This video shows zero about actual setup.
He didn't explain how to stabilize a bow but merely said move stuff about and trust your feel.. Lol..
Woodprix has very good and accurate plans.
"How to".....buys these things and put them on your bow. Hmmmm
No good for me, the animals will notice me a mile off. Also makes it difficult to navigate through the woods I'm guessing.
No help whatsoever. 😕😕
