I bought one from the thrift store and I’ve never seen the design anywhere else before. From the stitching, I would assume it’s original because it’s near perfect. The shoe also feels solid and heavy but I’m just curious as to whether this shoe was a vintage or really old model which was discontinued. Dude is kind of on point, but also kind of off. Vans has literally 1000's of variations. And that's including Floor Models, Direct From Retail and Show Models. Alot of these aren't even released directly to the public, they are even more exclusive then some Vans releases Exclusives. And with these, Show Models for example, they may not have the sizing tags inside the tongue, they may only have the size printed inside the tongue because they aren't meant to sell, they are meant for modeling. But these are made with the same materials. They're just about as exclusive as it gets aside from fake Gucci, Supreme, ect. customs that people print themselves. Now those, even though they may be 'real vans', they are fake knock offs that someone printed or colored themselves. Be aware, I mean vans go anywhere from 35 bucks to 1,000 bucks and up. And I'm a Van's head myself, have easily just under 100 pairs set up in Drop Front Boxes and others that I haven't worn, just collect. But yes, there are fake Vans out there, but there are so many variations, you can't rely on just a video to give you all of the 'this means it's fake' staples. And aside from that, I've ordered a slew of Vans from the Vans online store a some times you get a pair that is noticeably a bit of a manufacturer error. I just send them back and get a new one if it's in stock. But some, you can't get a new one because once their sold out, their gone. Got the all white Mickey old schools, came in with a small black mark on the back side of the right shoe. Wanted to send it back for a new one, but Vans had already sold out of my size. So, I kept them, their collectors. Some of these so called 'fakes' are just manufacturering errors. Just a little info on the topic.

My vans say HF on the sole but the factory code on the box is s2v 11/19 but I have a feeling shoes with HF on sole have s2v on the box. I am from uk so the vans are also bought in the uk, bought second hand from Depop but seller bought from asos, are these real? There is no other indication to say they aren’t other than the different factory code, and the box isn’t a lock one but one where the lid covers the box and is cut diagonally at the sides (if that makes sense but pretty sure it’s an official vans box but what uk vans come in) - am I right to think these are real?

I’ve just bought some and they look genuine but they have a reddish sole and the vans logo inside is kinda smudged looking, I’m wondering if it’s just the insoles that are dodgy or if the shoes are fake?

If anyone’s asking “why would they make a fake inexpensive shoe” people like myself make custom shoes and buy shoes in bulk, so you have to be careful of what you buy.

According to this video my Vans aren't fake except for the fact that the box doesn't have a "flap" to "lock" the box with it. Does this mean that they are fake even though all the other things seem to be fine?

The price one isn't a good marker for identifying fakes. Plenty of skate shops, normal retailers, and popular shoe stores will discount shoes well under $50 if they normally go for $65. If you're paying more than $65 for Old Skools not counting tax, you're getting ripped off by that store.

Mine match perfectly on almost every criteria but my holes are 7 not 8. Is it have to do with a shoe size, I'm size 4 in us? I bought it online for 60€, they look real and the box are identical.

Yes. The amount of eyelid holes depends on the size.

The scammers have already upped their game. I bought my fakes and it’s quite accurate compared to the real one. Do I regret it? Heck no! I just want a pair of sneakers that looks good.

From my experiences, all offical Vans shoes that I have come in contact with have the "V" facing front. I have seen some fakes face the front, however they have always shown signs of discolouration because the the logo is not solid.
