It is not illegal to own counterfeit bills. It is only illegal to transact business with them with the intent to commit fraud. You can print all the fake currency you want - so long as you don't try to pass them off as real. That's not to say that if you are caught walking down the street with a briefcase full of them that the cops won't be able to make a case that you *intended* to pass them off ... sooooo ... Still a bad idea. :)

Bob Dobolina thats right! I misspoke. You can own them but if you know it’s fake, you can’t buy anything or bring it to a bank without getting it taken. Thanks a lot for the comment !! I’m pinning your comment to the top since I made a mistake in the video. Your briefcase example did make me lol

That's not necessarily true you can't have it printed the same size as a real bill it has to be bigger or smaller they can charge you for possession of counterfeit with intend to defraud

A buyer gave me a real $1 with $200 fakes under it. When I realized it, he’d left. I immediately called the police so that I didn’t have that fake money on me.

@@elcachon2049 one can make replica money of the same size, but to get around that, one has to make it one sided, put facsimile on it, or both. Yeah, dishonest people ruin it for others, but I think it would be cool to have a quality replica of some otherwise unobtainable notes, ie, $100,000.
