1: hydrate + squalene oil 💧 2: then face base - blush, bronzer, contour etc. 3: tiny dot of green color corrector if blemish is red - pat with finger 3: put tiny amount of concealer on blemish with applicator brush and -wait- 4: pat/press concealer into the blemish with finger 5: use small brush to blend the edges 6: 🔁 as many times as needed 7: press setting powder over the area of breakout with powder brush 8: take small brush and press more powder directly onto blemish 🔑 : layers and blending around the edges each time writing this for myself! ❤️

If you can afford it, get the Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer. The one that comes with two shades in a compact. Most concealers aren’t for spots. The LM one sticks and doesn’t fade like others.

I’ve been doing this loads lately and it really is a game changer! If you have fair skin, I recommend using a yellow corrector, instead of green, as sometimes putting green over red will create a darker spot on pale skin. (green+red=brown, yellow+red=pale orange, which tends to blend into fair skin tones better!) You can also use eyeshadow mixed into concealer just to tint it slightly yellow/green if you don’t have a colour corrector xx

Only thing: maybe swab the concealer on the back of your hand first and apply with a small precise brush of your choice (I love super small eyeshadow brushes) instead of touching the wand directly onto the acne/blemish. This just unnecessarily introduces more bacteria into your concealer tube. But still love this. Reminds me a lot of Celine Bernearts' old video on concealing, and it's just the only way to get it done!

And yes, i agree with what you commented about a slightly lighter concealer on the forehead spot. But nonetheless, still 👌🏽💯💡!

If you need to layer up concealer in thin layers, a touch, a smattering of powder in between give the next layer something to grip to instead of putting cream on top of cream. It has always worked well on my clients. Also using a thicker concealer like LM secret camo and a pin point brush, using a creamy thinner concealer you've got much more chance of movement.

  • @jana_a_banana
    @jana_a_banana2 жыл бұрын

This is basically my process but I use a super small eyeliner brush to put the concealer on (Chloe Morello had a video on this ages ago). It gives me extra control and is a bit more hygienic than putting concealer directly on a spot. The product doesn’t go as far around the break out because you’re putting only a small amount directly on top of it. It’ll take a bit more time to build up coverage, but if you’re doing the process in this video anyways you’re likely doing it because you have the time. You can also adjust the coverage a lot easier. Sometimes I’m ok with going out with visible acne but I don’t want it to be RED red. In that case I’ll make a small X or + on my zit with the eyeliner brush and blend there. It’ll give the whole area around the zit the same level of coverage to look more seamless.

I've been doing this exact method for years! I've been struggling with acne for about 7 years but I've always disliked the way foundation felt all over my face. So I just have some concealer, an elf color corrector pallet, and an eyeshadow that matches my skin tone perfectly. Slap that on my red spots and eye bags and done. Literally takes me like 3 minutes to do max. I agree with how you said it makes you look like you have flawless skin. To me, putting foundation over everything makes it look too artificial, but spot correcting makes it look like its your natural skin (I mean it is, just with some doctoring lol).

Hey Alex! Have you ever considered filming your skin care/hydration routine in a kind of vlog style fashion? I feel like many of your tutorials nowadays include making sure you're hydrated and primed with a usual skin care routine, wether it is you're or ours. However, I feel like it would be really helpful to see what you do before you proceed with the makeup since it is such an essential step. Since I know there is a waiting process between alot if skin car steps, that is why I suggested the vlogging type style. So you just kind of film a clip of the process and edit ilthe clips together instead of having to sit in front of the camera and wait. Hope this helps and I'd love to hear from other commenters if they'd like to see that.

curology is my holy grail but it’s been failing me for a little while.. so i definitely needed this quick makeup question: could you make a video touching on how to blend face makeup (cream blush/bronzer/highlighting concealer) without it disappearing? it seems like i can only blend out any lines after it’s GONE 😂 thanks sis

This is what I've learnt from Desi Perkins a few years ago for a flawless spot conceal (changed my life): Cover your spots the exact same way as shown in this video BUT instead of translucent powder use a *Powder Foundation* in your shade! If you keep building up the concealer for more coverage it can look ugly real quick. So use a *Powder Foundation* instead 1) it gives you even more coverage, which is perfect if you want to conceal a spot 2) it looks flawless/no cakeyness 3) it sets the concealer in place. :)

I think you've said you switched to not wearing false eyelashes anymore, I would love to get a tutorial for curling/mascara recommendations !!! I've always hated the feel of falsies but my straight lashes just dont really do the trick either :0

Another tip for large breakouts: if the pimple is protruding it can cast a shadow, and no matter how much of a coverage you apply you can still see it. Add a tiny tiny tiny bit of lighter concealer with a tiny tiny tiny liner brush on the bottom off the pimple (crescent shape) and try to keep it there when blending.

I'm not sure I would use the concealer applicator directly on a spot due to bacteria from the blemish going back into the whole tube. I would put a dot on the back of a clean hand and apply with a really small brush

This was a perfectly timed tutorial! Waxing gives me INSANE breakouts (and redness/texture) so I've been considering covering them with makeup and lo and behold, this tutorial drops! Hey Alex do you have any post-facial hair breakout/redness tips (makeup or skincare wise) ?

Wondering the same. I have melasma that covers large Areas of my face and when I spot conceal I feel like it’s 75% of my face that needs it :(

When texture shows up I feel like adding another thick layer to my face with some foundation-goo is the absolute last thing I need. I just wanna spot conceal and I try not to fret about the imperfections peeking through here and there. It somehow appears, cleaner? Idk

I have vivid, pigmented scars that I find pretty much impossible to hide no matter what. I wonder if I need to focus on colour correction rather than swamping my skin in products

Color correction can help. But often the issue is that the concealer is not full coverage enough or it doesn’t stay put. If you can afford it, get the Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer. The one that comes with two shades in a compact. The LM one sticks and doesn’t fade like others. There is a reason why most MUAs use it for spot concealing.
