I learned a lot watching Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank! Now, here’s a billionaire who never buys expensive, overpriced anything. She revealed that all her jewelry is costume jewelry and she never pays more than $40 for one piece. Also, her tote bag was purchased at Marshall’s and she had it repaired twice...... that was it, my Louis Vuitton and Chanel bag went on eBay..... I just purchased a gorgeous summer bag for $30 and received numerous compliments already.... never too old to learn. No more designer bags for me. Also, how about those gals who sling a huge Louis Vuitton over their shoulder and dress like they’re going out to mow the lawn or can’t afford to pay their bills. Done

Donna Hyman also they act so snobby about them. I enjoy Louis Vuitton for the long lasting quality I have the shoes, belt, wallet, key cases and phone case. They buy it because it make them look ritzy. I have found that white women could care less about talking about Louis Vuitton to other fans. But black women appreciate them more and love to talk about them. That’s true in the shops black men and women as SAs are more helpful and professional than white or Hispanic SAs.

Oh my goodness! We love seeing lavish wardrobes! Such a great video. My favorites are the bags and shoes. I love the different colors, patterns, and textures! If I had to narrow it down, I think *gtdupe* ’s collection is my favorite.

My mother was a mannequin in Paris after the war, during the New Look era, a time when each designer had his/her own distinct “look” as definition. No one was overt with their labels. Hence, I grew up with the axiom, “Never wear labels for any design house, unless they are paying you; you don’t pay them!” Labels are tacky.

I remember when I was at university, brand's would give us T-shirts to wear with their logo for free. Students where walking advertisements for the brands and the kids get free merchandise. It was tacky but you were a student with a free T-shirt. Now of kids pay huge amounts to a brand to give free advertising for the brand!

They always mess up the painted edges with overpaint, such a pity. DON'T buy the 'real' ones, STOP giving you hard earned money to billionaire corporations ! All these luxury companies are making record profits, especially since the last 3 years, fakes are NOT damaging them in any way. No different than a man with his car collection. Those whom never owned a luxury bag will never understand. I rather buy one good bag that will last a life time than a cheap one I will have to replace every other month which BTW will add up in cost, might as well buy a REAL bag and be done with it.

@ChocFiend yes, cheap pleather bags lol! But also I've had the 150.00 bags pop a stitch or two in less than a few months. Its a preference when it comes to good handbags, I rather spend a few hundred than have to worry about spending 200.00 and the bag just doesn't hold up as well and bust a stitch or two!

Hmm i used to think like you until i found out that some bags appreciate in value over time. For example, if i had bought a channel classic bag 2 years ago for 4500, i would be able to sell it today for 6500 😐. Cant do this with no name brands though

Also, as ChocFiend said (and myself somewhere above), you can find a decade-lasting leather bag for far less money. I won't even go to the area of buying such overpriced stuff in the world where many people don't have enough for basic living (very often as a result of the overpriced stuff manufacturing businesses).

i'm retired .....it's just me.....i made a decision when i retired to live like a pauper, rescued four feral road dogs , give them the best life possible forever......i buy nothing for myself new, only used at Goodwill or Salvation Army....i pay bills for home and utilities, etc., then, everything the pups need, vet care, great food and supplements, fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, etc. ,cozy blankets, safe fenced yard...........it's the best retirement i could possibly have.......surrounded by unconditional LOVE !......who would trade that for fancy purses?....

I don't like the lying. I just buy what I can afford that's not trying to pretend it's something else. I will say, though, I received a Coach knock-off as a gift that did not wear well. The zippers ripped off at the seams and stitching came loose. Any Coach I have bought is authentic and over time exhibits that it is better quality. I think the designers care very much that their product ideas and names are being stolen and that their reputations could be harmed by the misrepresentations that the poorer quality merchandise carries. (I'm glad I found out that my knock-off Coach wasn't real. Otherwise, I would have thought that their quality had suffered.)

I have two pre-loved *esluxscom* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

I'd rather get the *esluxs* for $500 us and put $4,500 us in my bank account.

I have bought fake designer luggage and bags in Hong Kong for years. I've had them repaired from time to time at the actual designer retail store in the US. Never had a question raised. Bought a brief case and decided to monogram it in the states. Vuitton did it for free. Cost was 700. Saved around 3 grand

Viva loco, I have always thought that we should not have more purse than money in that purse. Funny part is, lots of people I know with "old money" don't even buy luxury handbags; they're still carrying around some really well worn in handbag from 30+ years ago that doesn't look flashy and looks in great condition. It's the "new money" that flaunts labels, bling, luxury looks and all. Old money looks like a penny pincher, new money buys everything new all the time and lives month to month on good or decent income, but, wants to look wealthy... Old money has money to go to lavish vacations, but, they decide to go low-key on discount fares and not post on social media. New money takes selfies of every step, every move... lol I'm neither old or new money...I have a daughter in Nursing school and another in high school so we broke money. LOL ♥

I saved money for a designer bag once. My 80lb Pit was frustrated and found my bag a tasty way of showing it. He even dragged it out to the lounge in front of me to show his handiwork. Never again! Losing expensive items within seconds isn't worth the money but I still enjoy going into designer shops and feeling the bags. The craftsmanship is art.

Another way to spot a fake is seeing a knock off you never seen before. You're immediately attracted to it but google the style and color of the bag. I found out my favorite designer never made a bag that looked remotely like that lol

There is not much excuse in this day and age for industrialists to subject workers to third world working conditions, even in third world countries. There is extreme wealth and dire poverty in such countries. No middle ground. And in such nations, the typical style of government is comprised of a select group of individuals who control all the wealth, and their only objective is increasing their personal wealth, and using the corrupt government they've created to make it happen, for them and their cronies. Scrambling over the backs of the working class every inch of the way is their stock in trade. So of course there is no regulation to require that the manufacturers provide humane and decent working conditions--one of them or their conies owns those sweatshops. Your statments imply that status quo is the only alternative.

I purchases the used LV Girolata and there was no date code. I called the LV store and they assured me that they no longer put the date code on the outside but now in the inside of the lining. Have I been duped?

Why should you feel guilty? Its always other people who make others feel so because they consider it 'a waste of money'. But if you have the desposible income for it, go for it! You've worked hard ans deserve to treat yourself to something nice. Alot of major brands will have defusion lines. For example, Miu Miu for Prada, Armani Exchange for Armani, or DKNY for Donna Karen. They might have similar designs at cheaper prices, but to have a copy at a cheaper price would make the original handbag not as special. It would need to use more inferior materials, which the luxery brand would never ever want to associate itself with.

I think that there's a lot to be said for Barbara's method, I agree .. I have purchased lovely REAL high end bags, for less from s private party, but I knew that it was Authentic. I also shop at Marshall's, etc... Even for tote bags, etc. I'm not sure why someone would pay $2,000 for a handbag/ tote/ whatever.... Do something GOOD with that cash and buy groceries for a family , ..pay someone's rent that month, ...do something that will give your Heart and Soul the feeling that you've done something good , not just " bought yourself a very very expensive item " . ....

Sweetheart there is no difference between the CC’s buckle on the *esluxs* and real one. You’re seeing things that aren’t there. If a professional came in and told you the CC was a real, you’d probably agree.

I live close to the Mexico border. I always go for *suluxs* , their quality is great. Some of them are made with leather and really hard to tell the difference from real or not. Either way, it’s your choice. No judgement from me

To spot the fake is that you have to be careful about the color contrast of the bag, numbers of the stitches, zipper, the pattern of designs (especially in Louis Vuitton bag), and the weight of the bag (if it's heavy, it’s fake because they use a low-quality leather).

Zipper for the originals will be not very smooth. Original has its pace to open the zippers unlike fake ones which will be very smooth almost takes no time to open haha

I will wait till the reach the thrift stores

or you could just go to Neiman Marcus or another high end store to make sure you get the real thing

There are consignment websites that sell designer handbags. They still run in the hundreds of dollars. I want to get mileage out of a purse. I have a vintage Dooney and Bourke that is so well constructed it will probably last another 30 years.

Only if you buy it places like the flea market or from people.

Good information but right now I'm good with my discounted $30 bags. If I ever get that cash to buy brand names will indeed come back and see this video again for verifications 😁

Also there no such thing as serial number on the Louis Vuitton bags . It’s called the stamp code and : or chrono As we called it making the bags

#1 is definitely not true. I have an LV with uneven stitching, a YSL with a slightly misaligned button, a Balmain with a very slight indentation in the canvas, and a Burberry with an ever so slightly crooked pocket. I bought the Balmain from their website and the others in the boutiques. I didn’t notice any of those flaws until it was too late. But that’s handmade. There will be slight imperfections. My two Dior Book Totes - my only fakes - are perfect. And you are pronouncing Hermès wrong. It’s ER-MEZ not HER-MEES.

The weight of authentic bags differs from fake ones. Could be a combo between hardware and materials, that are not the same as authentic one....but it is different. Also, the sizes are often off...precise measurements of item design and stitch count, is not matched exactly because machinery and patterns used to make either, is not the same. Thread color and thread type...also different. Hardware size....and color differs; locks and key type, especially.

If you want authenticity don't buy it at a shady store. If it seems too good to be true then it probably is. Stick to merchants that are authorized to sell the brand or just buy it directly from the brand's boutique or website. Remember to register your handbag as well.

I still love my LV reverse monogram *hqluxy* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.

My daughter buys my bags for DOB in past or gave me the designer bags she no longer wanted. For sure they were not fake. Better to purchase directly from the designer store

0:25 I highly doubt there are people out there making "fake" cars and putting random "designer" logos on there 🤦🤦

LV classic brown bag piping i s never light beige plastic evidently it will be matches the bag . words from LV representative .

Elaine Evans the vachetta leather is very light when first purchased. As it gets its patina it darkens with the rest of the vachetta. The new vachetta (when first bought from Louis Vuitton) is actually so light it’s almost white. So all the vachetta leather including piping are the same color on monogram canvas bags.

Not everyone's vachetta leather will patina and get dark. I own several authentic LV handbags that I purchased directly from a LV store, I always seal my leather with bee's wax when I first get them because I personally like the contrast of the lighter leather. They patina over time but only to a light honey color. I know that this leads people to think my bags are fake but I don't care. I buy my bags because I visually like them, not as status symbols.
