A lot of nice information on the video. If you push all three buttons down. Everything on the face should light up and when you push it again, a number should appear. It’s amazing how well the knock off watches are made today my first couple Cassio I bought online were not from an authorized dealer and we’re not real. Learned my lesson real quick.

Learned some good points here. Another less instant difference I've found is the accuracy. Set both real and fake to correct time over nine months ago. Real one is two minutes slow and fake is over 30 min fast. Other casios set 9 months ago within the minute of each other

    * The light on the genuine F91 is rubbish, it only illuminates half the screen, the fakes have better lights. * The back of the fakes say the unit was made in Japan, only very early F91's were made there, but they are now made in China and Indonesia.

This has always been a controversial point of the module 593 (F91-w and many others). The light was made this way on purpose to fulfill the battery life expectancy. The original F91 from 1989 was advertised as having a 7 year battery life. To meet this criteria, the light diode couldn’t exceed a certain threshold or it would drain the battery too much in the long run. Keep in mind that every time the stopwatch is reset, the light comes on. Many other models only boasted a 5 year advertised battery life. Anyways, I agree the light is terrible, but it was done for this purpose

@@bobsmithinson2050 I never knew there was a strategic reason for the poor light, but knowing that CASIO put that amount of thought into what has always been a cheap watch just makes the F91 even more epic.

@@007sarabond exactly my thoughts. I agree. Another cool aspect of the dim light is military use. If you’re out in a dark field across enemy lines, you wouldn’t want and “illuminator” style watch giving away your location.

The “U” on the crystal is not for counterfeit prevention, it’s the plant that it was manufactured at. All older model casios list the plant on the crystal, for example “Japan a” “Japan u” All the F91-w crystals were made at the U plant.

Also the back plate on fakes is a massive give away they cannot master the brushing as casio do...Plus fakes tend to say made in japan..Theyre not made there anymore as far as im aware hence no U on the inner casing...Its mind boggling how theyll fake nowadays a £12+ casio legend...Why casio didnt make this watch into a 38mm is beyond me theyd go tenfold on sales as they are a seriously small LEGEND piece that we love n hate all in one.. Must have for die hard casio vintage collectors...😁

I agree with everything you said, but....I don't understand how a making of the fake F91, which is cheaper than a meal at McDonalds can be financially ok....I really don't understand....my advice for anyone is - buy a watch from the reputable seller....a possibility of buying a fake is small, but a possibility of piece of mind is really big....it's not going to be a cheapest possible option but it will be hassle-free. I got absolutely nothing against the fake watch sellers even though I don't care about their reasons, but I got a lot against the people which are buying those watches....those things are just a bait for the fish. By the way, that fake is really produced good, no matter what..I mean, can really anyone complaint about the cheap looking circuitry if the price tag is ....symbolic I must say? Don't forget.....without a demand a supply wouldn't exist, that's for sure.

Where I am, a genuine costs $60 aud to buy. I got a fake from eBay for $17. - My fake does the Casio screen and the jumbled symbols trick. - The screws are exactly how you described for the genuine where one of the lines goes all the way. - The back is brushed stainless. - The screen is clear from all angles. You can read the time at all angles. - The ‘U’ is in fact tiny and almost non visible as on the genuine watches The reason I know it’s fake is the packaging it came in, my watch says made in Malaysia, all f91w are made in china and will say so. I also know my one is a fake because the bell symbol is the alarm and the stripes are the hourly chime. Should be the other way around. I also know my one is fake because I bought it off eBay 😂 I don’t care though, it is accurate and keeps time within a millisecond when comparing to my phone and only cost me $17 and not $60. I wanted a new watch to use daily and beat the crap out of and not care and this one does the job well.
