If you have been digging your whole life , you would clearly see and know that the trench was dug with a trencher then back filled. A trench dug with an excavator always has ground break out on the edge.

Norman Vaile not of you cut down from the top like he’s doing. Most people want to rip up from the bottom. That’s when you get the edges busting out. Clearly that’s virgin soil he’s digging. This guy is good. Just face the facts and give him credit for it.

I love it when the ground is mostly free of boulders and the digging goes smoothly. In my area, it's granite ledge in a lot of places. Trenching a foundation usually involves breakers for days on end.

Getting off your ditch with a rubber tire backhoe is a bit different, but still pretty much the same principle, a little more "balance" while lifting and pulling the back end over the ditch. You definitely have spinning off (actually everything you did) mastered in an excavator. Great looking ditch by the way. What I liked the best in your video now seems almost like not seeing the forest for the trees. Digging a hole to get rid of that last little bit of dirt is brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?? LOL Great video, and the audio was perfect. Thanks!!

I have no idea why I have never tried getting off backwards. As soon as you started doing it I went FUCK! I'm doing it wrong! lol. I hate getting off trenches. Never fell in, but make a mess and just pisses me off. Nice trench by the way.

YOU SHOULD SHOW THE NEWBIES A INTEGRITY DIG FOR ALL THE TYPE OR SIZES OF PIPE YOU MIGHT DO. They are more and more common and for a guy who is getting back into running equipment afer 15 years on and off steady for a few years or working my 1-2 weeks off from the other type of operating I do which is gas plant operating so the shifts worked out that I could work my days off cause it was so busy in Canada 2001-2009. I was a workaholic for 10 years then went consulting and then overseas and now I am back and doing what I enjoy more than talking to calgary VP 's or engineers. just listening to music and digging the earth,. It don't get much better than that. thanks for teaching proper stairs every 2-3 joints. I hope you can do a integrity dig. They dont like seeing phone use but maybe I can sneek one in or what it looks like after, even if you could do that to. thanks again from the guys who had to think it out by them self and never taught.

pretty decent digging and instructions buddy. I was a young kid like 20 and had to figure out all the fancy tricky I would hear someone mention,I remember all I was ever told and not even shown was how to slope,( dig 6'' down and mover over 6" and so on until the bottom, thats how I learned to slope with some practice.) and just do it myself careful trial and thankfully no big error yet, t always get my blood pu,ping a bit especially if people are watching. And then you get the jerk off who comes over and tells you how to do something or a step you were just about to execute or do, those guys that wanna make them self look smart and feel good...sooo annoying. It sure wold have been nice to have someone show me how to do it properly but you did it the exact same way I decided was the best,( walking back a big instead of spinning in one spot that loosens the ground for a cave in. ( and with plugging out being so time consuming when your green I was real happy when I decided to just dig a hole to push my remaining plug ionto and heel the ditch bottom and then there is no side digging BS which suck because you almost blind to your bucket in the ditch.
