    I am using only a stomp running to a line 6 power cab which goes into the house when I am playing at church. Am I able to use the stomp pedals in stereo or should I stick with mono only?

  • @HeyWorshipLeader

    @HeyWorshipLeader

    Coming out of one cab the stereo effect probably won't make a difference. I would just allow the Stomp to sum to mono by using only the left output...I do this all the time.

    Keep watching Jimmy's videos! :) Seriously, you can use the HX stomp and assign different effects to the 3 footswitches. You can turn them on/off like normal pedal effects. Or, you can make snapshots for each of the switches and do all sorts of cool stuff like turn up/down any features on the amps and all the effects. Lots of KZread tutorials out there but you should be able to dial in anything you need for each worship song.

  • @HeyWorshipLeader

    I was able to swell in the full sound with the reverb decay maxed out but then bring that volume block back out only allowing the top path to come through. But as you can see in the video I left a little volume in there but low enough o where you couldn't hear all the random notes but just more of a pad. You can do this also with the mixer block, just take out all of path b after you've swelled in your chord.

    Please no offense, but why does most modern/contemporary church worship sound have to use so much reverb and U2 delays? Personally it taste like Velveeta Cheese, looks good, taste good, but it’s produced cheese. I personally pray there is a revival in worship sound with its own sound. I play guitar for worship and I struggle with trying to be a conduit for our Lord without being processed cheese. Help me Hey Worship Leader. Maybe come up with something new.

    Just be yourself, who the Lord has made you to be. Don't feel the need to conform. My electric guitar player doesn't like playing the lead lines from most songs, prefers to play his own and make up stuff on the spot. It's maybe not always what I'd want but it sounds good and I value that our worship team sounds like our people, not like some other church. Do you feel pressured by your worship leader or team? Or is it just that all worship stuff is sounding the same right now?

    if you're not writing your own music, you're in a cover band. this is just the way the music is right now. personally, i like it, but i'm sure it'll change eventually. it wasn't that long ago that we were singing of His love forever and living His name on high. i think we're a bit better off now. if we could only get churches that aren't completely wacky and, in some cases, heretical, writing worship music that we could all copy.

    The trend of 'worship guitar' using an extreme amount of ambient effects to be worshipful is misguided. There are many great worship songs that have earthy, woody and gritty tones, natural amp/electric guitar tones. Worship is about pouring your heart out to God and expressing it through song via your instrument or voice. Too many times, 'worship guitar' sounds like an artificial attempt to be spiritual. That said, there's a time and place for delays, shimmers and other ambient effects. Unfortunately the trend over the last many years has been to rely on them to the point of losing the soul. A stripped down guitar and amp sound can be very worshipful and soulful, however, it does require some skill, and most of all prayer to not lose sight of who and why, and practice as the Lord deserves our best.
