I partnered with Atomos & Nanlite to give my company the tools to dramatically speed up my video production-to-post workflow. I discovered that I didn’t have to back my media up and then physically give it to my editor after shooting; my Ninja V with ATOMOS CONNECT could instead send proxy files through the cloud for my off-site editor to access in Frame.io.
With an upcoming shoot for Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Performing Arts Department, I was eager to find a way I could both capture stunning visuals and save time where possible. As I had shot projects for the College before, I was familiar with the environment and knew my trusted Nanlite Pavotubes and Forza series lights were essential for the open spaces.
Already a long-time Ninja V user, for me the ATOMOS CONNECT was the logical evolution to extract the most from the device’s functionality. With 12G SDI input, WiFi 6, Ethernet and AirGluTM timecode synchronization, the CONNECT module gives the Ninja V//V+ a new life. With this combo, I could record ProRes RAW from my Sony FX6 and connect my productions to the world through Atomos Cloud Studio (ACS). I can also now livestream to any RTMP streaming site, feed a remote source into Atomos Live Production BETA, and of course, send media worldwide.
This game-changing upgrade to my workflow meant that by the time the crew and I were home, there was already a first edit to give to the client.
