How To Sound Like A Girl

I am by no means a professional. This was just a silly idea for some friends and isn't very thorough. Just a technique I mess around with. Fun to mess with people online in voice chats.

    The first thing anyone should say when voice training is go easy! I have got muscle tension in my neck and cant speak without straining my voice! Don't go too hard. Work up slowly and if there is pain stop! And continue the following day. Work up from 15 to 30 minutes a day no more understanding that your voice won't change overnight.

  • @joanz4811

    @joanz4811

    3 жыл бұрын

    There's many different techniques you can use, but I would suggest trying to lift your tongue to the roof of your mouth and attempt to whisper a sound like "urr" or "umm" and if done right, you should be able to feel your throat contract a bit. This will be what you're looking for. From there, you can try to add some vibration to your vocalchords by speaking louder, though try to avoid sounding too breathy. If you have any more questions, do feel free to ask! Otherwise, I will be making a second video some time this month or next going a bit more into techniques and overall more in depth than I did in this short video. This was just a one-shot video I made to see if anyone was interested, which it turns out people are, so look forward to the next one! :)

    So are you changing how it feels to speak at all or are you speaking like you normally would but your adam’s apple just in a different spot?

  • @joanz4811

    @joanz4811

    3 жыл бұрын

    Great question! At this point, it doesn't feel much different at all than talking normally, but my adam's apple does move up and back and I feel a sort of "tightening" in my throat, sort of like you'd feel when you whisper across a room. I use it on a daily basis for hours at a time so that makes a sort of muscle memory. A lot of the voice after creating the base is pronunciations, keeping a consistent pitch and including emotions in vocal expression to make it less "robotic"/"monotone" and instead include musicality! I hope this was somewhat helpful! :)

    Growing up, I sounded like a girl, even in my 20’s, I still sounded like a girl, in my 30’s, I still sounded like a girl. People wondered, was I kinda Bi or Gay, but no I was not, I had a high pitched voice that match me sound like a girl. the only explanation I have is my voice and Adam’s Apple ( my voice ) was badly damaged by a grape that got stuck in my throat when I was still a little kid, how long I choked on that grape must have been a eternity ( it was no more then 10 mins), thank the lord I was in town, no more then a block away from the doctors clinic. so my mom rushed me to the clinic, put a oxygen mask on my face for a min, that helped me to breath again. And saved my life. But the damage was done, my voice sounded like a girl growing up.

    Wow, I would assume that someone kicked you really hard in the nuts 😂 Srsly though, that must've been a frightening experience. Has it put you off grapes?

    Just like when for example you sing, or yell, or whisper, there's risks to damaging your voice if done too much or without correct technique. As long as what you do isn't hurting is what's most important overall!

    The breath example is just an idea on how to reach the desired pitch. Then to form other words out of it is the hard part. In the beginning, I had a few rehearsed lines I could spit out, but to create a consistantly passable voice is the real challenge. There's no magic button or lock in our throats to "make it stick", but general practice and singing will make it easier.

    @@joanz4811 hey JoanZ, thank you for your fast response. But i feel i may not have been clear in what is meant. "Lock it while raised" i believe refers to the adamsapple(or whatever it's called). I can raise it, but i can't really keep it there. As soon as i try to speak a word, it drops. I have the feeling i'm missing some crucial thing here. Is it with a muscle you keep the adamsapple up ? (even if only for a moment)
