How to solve a word problem with systems of equations

👉Learn how to solve a system of linear equations from a word problem. A system of equations is a set of more than one equations which are to be solved simultaneously. A word problem is a real world simulation of a mathematical concept. The solution to a system of equation is the set of values of the variables that satisfies all the equations in the system.
To solve a system of equation word problems, we first define the variables and then extract the equations from the word problems. We can then solve the system using graphing, elimination, or substitution methods.

I'm salty. This is a great explanation, but every time I find problems like this, I'm missing both the number of each item used & the total number of all the items. But I wind up expected to solve for both. i.e. Total Monetary value = known Value of individual objects = known number of each object = unknown total number of all objects = unknown.
