Finally!! A perfect video for the beginner!! I've been watching people solder for years and was a little intimidated. You made it straight forward - step by step - fabulous!! Really appreciate your instruction. It's also nice to learn how to make flatware jewelry without a bunch of fancy machines. Wish you would make more videos but thanks for this one!!!

I'd like to make heart pendants using bottom part of 2 spoon handles. They are cut on the perpendicular, filed, and sanded. Each piece is half a heart. What is the best way to hold together and solder? Thanks so much

What is a pancake dye?how do you make the little circles? Please explain

A pancake die is a flat piece of, usually, some sort of toughened spring steel that has desired shape wire cut into it. The shape is bent up ( the whole is still in one piece, the shape is bent up and the side of that's not cut acts a hinge, ), the whole is hardened and tempered and then you wedge a piece of metal under the bent up piece. Then put it in a press, even a bench vice can if you da which the lot between some wood for protection, and a shape is cut out of the metal you wedged in the die. I'm doing this on phone, please forgive any mistakes. I think Rio Grande supplied, it will help to understand if you can see one. The matter of the circles is similar but any jewellery tools supplier will be able to help get a circle punch and die set. Evil bay and Amazing Scum lord (Amazon, I hate that slave owner Bezos) both sell them. They are a steel block you fit the material you to cut a circle out of into and then hammer a punch the circles size through the corresponding guide hole. I hope this helps a bit.
