How To Soften Fleece & Sherpa | A Dry Cleaner's Guide

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a 4th generation dry cleaner's guide to make fleece and sherpa soft again.
Basically, you need a depilling comb to break up the little peaks / groups that have formed on the fleece. Overtime, the barbs on the fibers get tangled up, you need to comb them out just like you would your hair.
The depilling combs in the video are: uproot, restora, and gleener (my favorite because it has a lint brush attached).
Just go easy on your garment, every time you comb you remove fibers!
Good luck and happy cleaning :)

Note - this works with NATURAL sherpa. Faux sherpa is basically plastic, and the reason it does something similar is usually because it has been physically melted together (usually in your dryer). For faux sherpa, the trick is to just keep them out of the dryer and line drying but there's no coming back from the melted matting.

Sherpa / fleece fibers especially the man made variety do not like heat of any kind. The new washers that are high energy efficient are not kind to these fibers. These washers use less water and, longer cycle times which are bad for all fabrics. I am seeing this first hand with my new laundry equipment.

When this first happened I thought there was a possibility he could be innocent. I hadn’t looked into it since so watching your video made me realize he is 100% guilty!!

You can also use a pet brush on my fluffy clothes and it works like a charm!, I’ve used it on blankets and plushes and it restores them

@@janice8514yep that’s the ticket but remember to cool wash (30c) and air dry coz heat can melt the plastic fibers
