Does it matter the style of charcoal grill? The one i have is an 24" Expert Grill from Walmart...how would you set that one up? (if you can)
@GulfCoastSmoke
3 жыл бұрын
@@jasonwatts5802 Absolutely doesn’t matter! That’s the square one right? I would just get one full charcoal chimney full of coals, dump 3/4 of them unlit into the grill and put them to one side to create your two zones. Then light the other 1/4 in your chimney and put them over the unlit coals and then choke back your vents to create a show cook! Then place your meat indirect and just watch her purr and give you a great smoke!
I did what you said but I kept misting mine almost every 2 hours along with the water tray it was my first time and by God that was the most juiciest dam piece of pork I ever had thank you for sharing it definitely was not as hard as I thought it would be

It’s not as difficult as you think! I love being able to smoke on my Weber Kettle! And they’re so affordable it doesn’t make sense not to have one in your back yard!
All I have to do is recalculate to centigrades because I’m from Sweden. Thank you. I will follow you. 😀👍
I consider myself above average smoker. I have a simple charcoal grill. I’ve done mainly ribs chicken and briskets. This is my first time doing a pork butt. I just happened to find this video. I haven’t even started yet but I know the results will be great. I also LOVE playing Apex Legends while smoking. You earned a life long follower.

Do you have a favorite brand of charcoal that you like to use for smoking on your kettle?
Ive got the webber kettle but I'm really thing of getting the smoky mountain this year what do you think is it that much better for smoking
@GulfCoastSmoke
Жыл бұрын
I truly truly do. Because it’s so easy to use and you can utilize the whole cooking grate for food! Whereas on the Kettle, you still have to sacrifice some if you have hot coals and two zones!

@@GulfCoastSmoke I went and got a WSM, I’ve had a light up but not a proper cook, so I’m thinking of a pork-but this Easter, can a foiled water pan work the same as a baffle their seems so many different ideas, use the pan and water, no pan, pan raped in foil and the baffle plate, here in the uk it can be quite hard to get some bbq add on’s ?

You can really put whatever! I’ve used beer, apple juice, water with apple cider vinegar, but it’s all up to you! I’m super glad you enjoyed the video. I have so many friends that call me for advice a lot and I just think it’s a lot simpler than people think. Don’t get me wrong it’s not just easyyyy but at the same time if you make it hard in your head it’ll be ever harder than it needs to be!

Hi there, Is there any idea how to keep charcoal on? Because whenever i closed the grill, with vent 1/4 open on the cover and full opened on the bottom of the grill.. my charcoal is going to completely off for about 5 minutes :'(
@GulfCoastSmoke
3 жыл бұрын
Hey! You have to make sure your briquettes are #1 full lit and #2 touching! If they’re touching they should not be going off at all! Are they fully lit when you use them?

Cherry briquettes . I don’t use any other flavor of woods except for Cherry I checked your wing video out I was gonna give you a recipe to try . I used the Franks hot sauce I let them sit in a bag over night then I poke holes in the bag to let the sauce flow out , then I. Season it with the holy gospel meat church with some liquid smoke , then after 30 minutes on the grill I hit brush maple syrup on there .try it you’ll thank me later I promise .
