How to Skim Coat Drywall
In this video we look at how to skim plasterboard to a Level 5 finish using a hawk & trowel.
This is done when old wallpaper has been removed & we are looking to complete a new paint finish to walls, getting that nice consistent finish over the entire wall or on new plasterboard were there is critical light glancing across the wall.

what do you think about using No more gaps in the corners? Why bother with corner tape?

what product are you using? did you sand the walls before coating?

Gib trade finish multi, yip sanded, rescrewed, retaped all joints and internal corners as had no tape .

and you don't have an issue with glue residue and wallpaper bits? the sander should knock them off. Have you ever used 2 coats of quickset and then a top coat of finny?@@bmdrywallfinishing

@magicmike6961 no just use the glue based plaster over old walls, seen problems using gypsum based setting compounds over old walls
