How To Skateboard For Adults Tutorial

Ғылым және технология

This is my complete tutorial of how to skate for adults. Its important because adults have different circumstances when learning and this video deals with all the things that will make learning a little safer. It took me over a month to put this together and its over twenty minutes long so buckle up and hang on.

Where i live,Malmö sweden,we have loads of really good skateparks, lots of the architecture being built is skater friendly, old skaters are now calling the shots in the city when it comes to building stuff. We have a high school (16-19 year olds) which has skateboarding on the schedule. Lots of older people skatibg here,im 50,and i never stopped just because we have such a good skate community, producing world class skaters etc. Last but not least, ill say 30+% is girls/women. Indoor/outdoor parks have girls/women skating wirh other girls, certain hours no boys allowed etc. Good luck and keep on keeping on

So I got my cruiser board (after 15 years of nothing) and it was an awesome feeling to stand on a board again. i gotta say, as someone who clicked on this video out of curiosity mostly because i’m a 30yr old who has been skating since i was 10, the part about skate culture and skate parks being very non judgemental and especially not bothering women who are skating or learning to skate is very true in my experience. i have very often seen women or younger girls learning to skate at my local parks and the only thing i have ever heard any of the guys who are regulars there say to them is something along the lines of “you should turn your head to follow your body when you try that” or “it helps if you keep your shoulders directly above your knees”. just useful advice they would give to anyone. skaters are very inclusive for the most part (there’s always some bad eggs, they get corrected quickly by everyone else though) and as long as you are putting in the effort and seriously trying to learn to skate and not just taking pictures at the park without actually skating, no one will say anything except encouraging or helpful words. skate culture is very unique in that there are very few gatekeepy types/attitudes. we want everyone to experience the joy of skating, and everyone is welcome to learn. the people who are experienced skaters are happy to pass on their knowledge and they all recognize that at one point they were in the exact same situation as the person learning and it brings them back to how amazing it felt when they landed their first kickflip or finally committed to a drop in for the first time. we want everyone to experience the joy we felt learning to skate and because of that, will never laugh at someone learning, and will always offer help if requested. we also recognize that it’s a very male dominated culture and in order to branch out from that we have to not be creepy weirdos to every woman at the park, so we just leave it alone, and treat women/girls at the skatepark the same as we would anyone else. never be afraid to go to your local park. i know it can seem intimidating but just be genuine. the only people skaters can’t stand are people attempting to use skate culture for aesthetic reasons without respecting the culture/people that created those aesthetic choices. skateboarding was invented by weirdo outcasts, to connect with other weirdo outcasts, and as a result, we never want to oust people from the scene without an extremely good reason.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video, which was randomly recommended for me. I'm also a photographer, and like skateboarding, so I suppose it was a natural video for KZread to recommend. I was struck by how warm and friendly this man is, and ended up watching this whole video instead of editing photos. He was also a very talented photographer. I'm very sorry to learn of his passing, and my sincere condolences to his family for their loss.

haha oh no lol. hey man yeah my son showed me how he does speed bumps , he lifts the front wheel going over them fast and jumps as the back wheel hits it and the back of the board bounces off the bump and he lands and keeps moving. I dont have the guts to try that but the "step down take weight off board foot" technique should help. another thing I dont like are the yellow bumpy things at every crosswalk, they will throw you off if you hit them too fast.

Today I got this video mentioned in my feed. I am a woman of 58 and started skateboarding for the first time of my life in 2019, at 57. Indeed there are little to no tutorials catered for older grown ups who are starting with this sport. I really like how you cover all the things we will encouter, sooner or later. I must say I get a lot of positive feedback from young kids to older skateboarders when I am in a skatepark. Skatelessons are helping me a lot too and I love the skatevibe during those evenings, full of adults who are learning to skateboard. It is great sport, enabling me to unwind like no other sport has ever done.

Also, I teach guitar and tell all my students that it does not matter when you start, (as a lot of people think they would have achieved more if they had started fresh out of nappies!) all that matters is your desire and drive to do it and you will achieve it. I'm going to prove this by becoming a competent skater, even though I have started in my fifties.

Almost 39 years old and I'm back at it. I skated at 13 and stopped at 19. I wish started again back at the age of 25 . You're definitely not too old.

Thank you for this wholesome content my friend. These are some nice tips. Found this by random a few hours ago. Went to the attic and found my old skateboard again. You put a light under that old fire again. Been 20 years since i skated. It's difficult now when it felt like walking before.

First video I've ever seen on this channel and I can tell it's about photography from the shot composition and cinematography in this video! Well done! Super chill guy too, subbed!

Hey thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Means a lot, took me over a month to shoot and edit this. I'm not too athletic either, notice I did no tricks lol. Let me know how you progress ☺️

I got my first longboard today and seeing a bunch of young kids skate in the park made me think maybe I'm starting too late, but this video made me feel everything's gonna go just fine!

Hahaha thanks so much, that's the best compliment. With youtube it's always best I found to make videos you're passionate about so it will come natural

Watching you skate is giving me the confidence to get back on a board and just skate differently. Used to skate since my teens up until a spinal injury from something completely unrelated but had to give up a lot of balance-related stuff for a while, rehab has taken years. I did get on a board during the lockdowns tho ended up tweaking my back, taking me out from walking upright for a few months but watching your vibe is giving me a new outlook what I should probably start doing. This is a great video for those starting out but it i belive it could also get some people back on a board.

This was so good dude. I’ve been skating for 25 years now and I still watched this whole video because it was so damn enjoyable! Cheers to everyone getting into skating later in their lives. It’s a blast! 🤘🏼
