The difference between these videos and lots of other smaller youtubers is that this guy has phenomenal editing, audio, and filming. Also the tips helped out a lot

Thanks so much for this video Zack! I just came back to let you know I used your tips and mindset help to finally drop in on a vert ramp!! Aw man it feels so good to break through that barrier! (put the vid of my first drop in on my channel if you care to see). What an exhilarating feeling! I just want to keep skating vert more and more haha. Love the transition style videos from you and Al, and am looking forward to more so I can keep learning how to skate the big stuff! You both rip on transition!
Great edit Zack! You easily described how to approach transition skateboarding! Appreciate the tips!
Love your videos zack. You two transmit such a good bive, it make you different. Plus your skating is amazing.
Awesome skating, love the flower of life on the ramp too
Hyped on Al's channel! Glad you guys made this video, never thought of the bigger transition being "slower" but it makes total sense. I have been a bit fearful because of the extra speed skating vert, but the tips you guys mentioned are so true. Going up to the coping you have so much more time to adjust and make your movements vs on smaller ramps! Mash!

Happy New Year Zack... looking forward to watch your fun packed content into 2021. I’ll definitely check All’s channel as well. I’m undergoing a knee surgery (ACL) at the moment so no transitions for me right now but I’m happy to sit and watch you guys ripping it for the time being. 👊🏼

Quit scooting. Skating is more fun, harder, better community, people are more mature, cooler people doing it, plus you can tell girls you skate.

@@its7494 I've been skating for a few years now, and I prefer skating, but scooting is still fun, so it's probably not best to tell others to quit something that they might like, also skaters being mature is a stereotype, 2000s skaters? Sure, mature, but now that skateboards are more widespread -ahem- walmart -ahem- more and more kids have been getting into it.
@its7494

@@bob-wz2fb yeah I mean I kind of see where you're coming from but from my personal experience I have met too many scooter kids to count that scream about Fortnite, wear AF1s and run around with no sense of skatepark etiquette whatsoever with and without their scooter but I have never in my entire time skateboarding met any skater kids that have been anything other than someone that I could call a homie. They're all super chill, keep an ear out for other skaters, they watch and learn. Skateboarding attracts a certain type of person. Someone committed, someone who feels at home in the skate community and thats because of the sheer amount of time, pain and perseverance skateboarding takes. That's why they're all chill. Someone who doesn't feel at home just won't do it, they'll ride Scooters instead. Scooters are easy and attract little shits with their parents credit card and think they own the place. They give me a headache man, they don't have a bad rep for no reason.
Got me stoked to hit the coping on the big bowl bro!

I skated at 7-14 yrs old man stopped for nothing and then started about 3 months ago again and man I’m only skating bowls it’s a thrill dawg when you up there on them 11 feet pools and drops etc I hope everybody here gets better as well as finding more tricks to learn
So underrated
im a begginer skater and i think i wanna try transition skating before street, it looks fun af
:( The fear thing is right, it applies in all kinds of skating. My biggest fears are transition and stairs. I can’t do any tricks on transition, and there’s this ramp at my skatepark, I’ve dropped in there for like a thousand times, but each time I go, it is sooo scary and idk why. I get frustrated by that. I wish I could just do it instead of questioning and stressing. (It only happens the first time). Anyways I hope that someday I’ll break that mental barrier :).
thanks man
Thanks man i am new to skateboarding i mainly skate transition and this helps so much btw can you make a my perspective on how to roll in on a bigger quarter pipe

i live near mcvicker but even learning on anything there is pretty hard for me. any other place that are mellow quarter pipes or mini ramps to learn on?
I always found my goldilock zone for transition to be like 7 ft thats where stuff is big enough to be fun and stoke you out and small enough to try new things without being too scared

What's your take on transition setups? Trucks, wheels & decks sizes?
@ZackDowdy
3 жыл бұрын
I ride 169s, the wider the more truck room for grinding for sure. 56mm are pretty good for tranny but I tend to lean towards 54mm because I still like being low to the ground. Deck size is always around 8.5, whenever I go under 8.375 I’ll loose board control.

aintnoway he recommends dropping in as the first thing, first thing you should learn is just pumping, then kick turns
videos great , but the tricks you recommended first such as stand up 5-0s or tailslides are not the first tricks to learn when you get into transition

@ZackDowdy
3 жыл бұрын
Yes!! We gotta go back and get that one for sure.
Dropping in isn't the first thing to learn on a ramp... You need to learn to pump first, then kick turn, then maybe even rockfakie before drop in. If you drop in first, you arent gonna know how to speed up, slow down, balance or turn and the chances are you are gonna slam when you meet the other side of the ramp lol
