How To Skate Like Barzal In The Offensive Zone
What if I told you that you only need to master three mechanics to skate like Barzal in the offensive zone? Now, MASTERY is different than what most people think. So most will never truly master these mechanics. What's sad is that these mechanics are simple, easy to learn, and fun to do. In this video, I show you exactly what those mechanics are and how you can use them to dominate the offensive zone with the puck.

Pleas also keep in mind you need to have incredibly strong legs and stamina for days.

I was at a ref clinic yesterday morning out at UBC and as part of the warmup, the instructor had us skate the 5 circles doing cross-overs. Now while he said to emphasize the cross-under portion, what I observed was 95% of the skaters doing quick-steps with virtually no push through/under. As a Peewee and Adult coach, I see this all the time. I think you've got to show people video of themselves so they can visually understand just how much power is being throwing away. Great video Jason.

One of the best breakdowns and explanations I've seen. Since my son won't listen to me (obviously - I'm his Dad, duh) this is really useful to convey what I'm trying to get across to him.

Love it and the positive comments by people who appreciate the hard work and dedication Mathew has put in. I don’t know if it was you bringing this to my attention but Barzie does an incredible job influencing the defenders toes and heals and then uses the 3 things you described to attack the heals. I never was taught any of this but my God can it be helpful to the young players coming up. Super exciting! Thank you for re-educating me again! My son and his teammates will be the benefactors:-) 👊

“Positive feedback loop” although being used as a hockey term, reminds me of something I’m reading about in Jordan Peterson’s “12 Rules for Life”

Jason, what would be helpful would showing where this is not done properly and the result. This would allow them to contrast the proper way and the improper way.

I did all these things on the ice unconsciously when i was young. Amazing that they are defined in today's hockey mechanics/physics knowledge
