    I think one of the other keys to good stickhanding is that the top players keep their top hand in front of them, right in front of their belly, rather than to the side. This gives them optimal hand positioning to go either left or right with the stick/puck. The top hand location relative to their spine is what dictates elbow position. Also the spine is substantially forward when they are moving with the puck with speed. This keeps their head and shoulders closer to the ice and puck, making it easier to control the puck. Also easier to see it with peripheral vision. Knees are bent and pushing sideways to gain speed. Its takes a TON of strength and condition on lower back and hips. I would guess these guys’ core strength must be insane.

    How does the nhl grip code help? I tried and it was harder to shoot. I might be doing it wrong 😂

    1. Grip without gripping the stick. You increase surface area. 2. Posture improves. Your top hand is super important to the upper body posture cues. Really helps out with crevice positioning. A supinated grip will allow for moving hand from hip to hip close to the body. Shoulders rounding etc. 3. Wrist spring. You have to stretch the opposing tissues to get elastic bounce. If it’s not opened up then you aren’t stretching. At least not tension free. 4. The angle of your blade is going to way more useful and ergonomic. You’re able to cradle the puck and pull your hand back into crevice way faster. Crevice becomes the default.
