Is there any downside to oversizing a pool heater? Trying to decide between 250 vs 400 for a 16x32 pool.

Oversizing pool equipment is generally a good thing when it comes to filters, salt chlorinators, and heaters. For example, oversizing a heater means you'll be able to get your pool to the desired temp quicker, removing the need to run your pump longer. Oversizing a filter allows you to go longer between cleaning; a bigger salt chlorinator means you can get a longer life out of the cell. Plus, if you have to do heavy-duty filter/sanitizing, you have the higher top-end chlorine output to tackle tasks like pool opening or algae blooms.
