An alto can definitely sing this. Well depends on your actual range, but I know a lot of altos who can absolutely nail this song even better than me, an underdeveloped soprano.

I'm auditioning for the role of Christine at my school and this was so so helpful thank you so much!! 2 years later: I'm just now seeing the comments!! I ended up getting the understudy, but I also got to be apart of the performance as the lead soprano for ensemble songs and really enjoyed it!

I studied voice for over 15 years, and everything she's saying is definitely legitimate and useful. Keeping the high notes light rather than pressuring your voice. But in the end, it is what your range is capable of. You need to be a real soprano, a light soprano, to sing this song. The notes she says are difficult are only difficult if you don't have the notes in your voice. She is very helpful.
I WAS SINGING THIS 2 MINUTES AGO AND THEN THIS CAME UP IN THE RECOMMENDATION SECTION THIS IS FATE!!!!!

@@thefreyacaseymusic i agree. Also can i ask you something? Whenever i do my vocal warm ups my voice is always hoarse. I know i dont strain my throat when singing and i try to take care of my voice by keeping hydrated throughour the day , drinking ginger tea with lemon and honey . But my voice still gets hoarse even with notes that are not diffivult to hit. I would really love and appeeciate if you could help me in this
I'm 44 and I've sang my whole life and I've learned more from her in the last 24 hours than ever before. She's awesome to share her knowledge free of charge!! Love her! :-)

can you do the christine part of "all i ask of you?"
I am SO glad you went over that ending. The "groups of 4" is what constantly struggle with. I couldn't ever get the notes right, even when I slowed down Sierra Boggess' performance & tried to copy the notes, but you simplified it for me. Thanks so much!
Words cannot describe how much I appreciate this!!
I’ve studied voice for twenty years and you are definitely legit! Thank you this video is very lovely and helpful.

Might be a bit late now but as a fellow teenage soprano with voice lessons: PLEASE be careful with your upper voice, or you may risk damaging your vocals forever. Please only do the big E6 rarely, if at all, and hydrate afterwards and eat/drink(?) some honey. And if you have a voice teacher, only attempt with his/her permission. If you damage your voice at a young age, you risk the notes you are trying to reach! Also as Freya said, relax while doing the notes Just some tips. Good luck!

Lyrics Think of me, think of me fondly When we've said goodbye Remember me, once in a while Please promise me you'll try When you find that once again you long To take your heart back and be free If you ever find a moment Spare a thought for me We never said our love was evergreen Or as unchanging as the sea But if you can still remember Stop and think of me Think of all the things We've shared and seen Don't think about the way Things might have been Think of me, think of me waking Silent and resigned Imagine me trying too hard To put you from my mind Recall those days Look back on all those times Think of the things we'll never do There will never be a day When I won't think of you Can it be, can it be Christine? Bravo! Long ago, it seems so long ago How young and innocent we were She may not remember me But I remember her Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade They have their season so do we But please promise me that sometimes You will think of me

Very small tips that really make a HUGE difference
FYI if you are doing the Broadway open call she says the last high note is a B flat but on the sheet music provided by casting it's a high C so I think this is in a different key!
WOW! You have an angelic voice. So sweet. Thank you
Can you please do a tutorial for Habanera from the opera Carmen? I'm trying to learn it to help with singing in a different language and would love to hear your feedback. Thanks.

I’m singing this in the key of D Major, I’m literally dying. I’ve always sang mezzo and alto for musicals, but now I’m singing full on Soprano. 😂
The Phantom Of The Opera is definitely a hard piece (christine’s part), She sings like fricken high- This is high, but imagine doing that-

i have 3 years of choir experience as a soprano but i still want to try this song
There’s a couple different versions of think of me and the version I sing/ have says”think of August when the trees were green: don’t think about the way things might have been” but I absolutely love singing this song; it was one of the first songs I learned to sing in voice lessons!
TIME TO BUCHER MY VOCAL CORDS
One of my favorite musicals. I can't sing, so I really appreciate seeing the technicalities of how this beautiful song is constructed.
Hi!!!!! I just found you and I'm completely amazed by how light and sweet your beautiful soprano voice is, and how you sing this piece so effortlessly! I will DEFINITELY keep on checking your other tutorials because your tips come in super handy! Greetings from Venezuela!
Thank you! I am auditioning for my school play Phantom of the Opera and the only school songs you can sing for auditions are "Think of Me" and "Phantom of the Opera" and I have no idea where to start in trying to sing those. This was very helpful!

Yes please keep learning! Most people who think they have a terrible voice just lack proper technique since they don’t have a teacher. I advise you to be careful teaching yourself so you don’t harm your voice. But keep working at it
@CarolineForbesAndTaylorSwift

Just make sure you record your voice and listen to yourself to see what you need to work on. Whenever you are by yourself in the shower or just anywhere with good acoustics, just play around with your voice to see what feels comfortable and how high or low you can go.
Thank you for this. I am 70, went back to singing 5 years ago and your tips are invaluable.I can sing the high A but really struggle with that B! I will work to do this song justice.
Just beautiful
it’s useful and inspiring to see good technique demonstrated on an actual song. That makes it so much easier to learn a tune properly.
I must watch again! Learning lots each time. Thank you!

How do I get natural vibrato and sing effortlessly
@sarvin4471

probably with many years of long and hard practice
@annabaker9173
7 жыл бұрын
Sarvin you don't have to have years of hard practice. Natural vibrato actually comes with proper technique which you can teach yourself. It isn't that hard to find your vibrato. But your voice also has to be fully developed.
@mowesrik
6 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I developed my vibrato a few years ago and I didn't even sing regularly back then.
@bargasfam
5 жыл бұрын
Anna Baker Your voice doesnt need to be fully developed to have a natural and healthy vibrado. I’m 15 and I have a natural healthy vibrato. Proper technique is very hard to get without a voice lessons teacher but it is possible. Singing is dangerous to do self taught because if you do something wrong for a very long time, it can really hurt your voice in the long term. That is why a voice lessons teacher is a lot of help.
thank you! you are amazing!
