Glad to hear this underappreciated song is one of your favorites. Mine, too. The American version of Rubber Soul was much more of a "folk" alum than the English version because of this song being the lead track. Set the tone for the entire album. Leaving Nowhere Man and Drive My Car off the album also made it a more folk song album. Those were great songs, but we got them later so no harm done. Listening today, the blistering lead break on Nowhere Man and the lead intro and almost strained vocals on Drive My Car seem totally out of place on Rubber Soul. You do a great job, as always, by the way.

Thank you very much for all of your videos, although I could probably study the vocals of the beatle songs, and HOPE to get it right, you clearly did just that very "painstakingly" and I follow your tutorials and when I finish the song, the harmonies are always on par with the originals! GREAT job, I love your videos! Please keep making them! You often sound just like the fab 4 ;-) Also makes you realize even more the geniuses they were when you break down the song like this.

The high harmony at 3:10 does not "feel" like a typical McCartney harmony . It has a Bob Dylan , C/W feel to it that it is actually uncomfortable . Perhaps that is why it was buried in the mix? The one at 3:25 ALSO is not typical McCartney singing I get this Folk song vibe that leaves me flat. weird.

I see.. it's more difficult to mm.. control that kind of voice singing Drive my Car for me, I think it's because Paul has so much protagonism in that, or maybe he mixed that nasal voice with his own vocal strength, isn't it?
