How To Sight Fish For Carp With Soft Plastics

Hey guys, today it’s all about carp, specifically catching carp on soft plastics. In this video I’ll be breaking down the gear, lures and techniques I use to catch carp on soft plastics. Fishing for carp on soft plastics is extremely accessible and really enjoyable as it takes a bit of skill to get hook ups and they fight incredibly well. With Melbourne now allowed to fish within 5km of their home this is a great time to pick up carp fishing

Ha ha that fire place in the background is so cool with those two bookends, good info little dude, used to catch metery carp on the farm on the Lauchlan on worms on light tackle, was a good fight, never got one on a plastic; used to plant them under a tree on the wind breaks, those trees grew real big fast.

When carp are jumping out of the water what is the best tactic to use to catch them? I’ve read different opinions on what they may be doing which is slightly confusing.

  • @HawkesyFishing

I don't really change my tactics when I see them jumping. Just keep moving around until I see fish either feeding on the bottom or cruising and cast to them

The Jiggle fishing plastics I buy direct from them jigglefishing.com.au/collections/soft-plastics?aff=5 and then the other plastics I buy at trellys www.trellys.com.au/collections/soft-plastic-lures?ref=s1soc9ehmoei The monster Mikis can be hard to buy because they went out of production and have only recently been brought back for what I believe was a short run
