    It's kind of like talking. You don't think of each letter or word in a sentence, the same way as you don't think of each note or phrase when soloing.

    Honestly, I don´t think about that. Just rehearsing these little nut-crackers in moderate tempo does enough for me, my goal is to open up sponaneous flexibility quite a bit :) The benefit of Chads series is the academic concept that makes theory easy to understand. I am sure, on the long run, it will melt into my playing.

    Chad is a really great teacher, and for the first time has really identified the devices that everyone really wants to get better at and has created unique, beautiful and musical exercises. The fact that he plays SO well and can demonstrate everything SO musically, is really valuable

    Some eye opening licks on this I've been working through! An idea might be to do a series on individual standards and come up with 3 or 4 different solos and transpose them into all 12 keys. I think you said something on the importance of learning in other keys, something like that would be super valuable!

    Hey thanks for free lessons. I think the inside pentatonic example is great for ... do you call it diatonic shifting? Got that one first from a Barry Harris advocate where you take phrase and move it through the the seven notes. Saw you taught that as well on video about making your own solos. Also the free concerts at Emmet Cohen!

    It's not the l i c c. He starts with the basic ii-iii-iv-v and goes back down to the III, but goes in a completely different direction. The l i c c would go i-ii, it sounds like he goes non-diatonic there instead

    Question at 11:09, what is a F7 pentatonic? I've heard of maj and min pentatonics but never a 7th. So if there's an Eb in the F7 pentatonic, what are the scale notes? Brilliant lesson. I will buy the PDF.

    F7 pentatonic= F G A C Eb, the notes are written in the sheet above the 'F7 pent' chord symbol (but in the order G C A F G Eb C F, remove doubles and use F as starting note👍)
