It's kind of like talking. You don't think of each letter or word in a sentence, the same way as you don't think of each note or phrase when soloing.

Honestly, I don´t think about that. Just rehearsing these little nut-crackers in moderate tempo does enough for me, my goal is to open up sponaneous flexibility quite a bit :) The benefit of Chads series is the academic concept that makes theory easy to understand. I am sure, on the long run, it will melt into my playing.
Chad is a really great teacher, and for the first time has really identified the devices that everyone really wants to get better at and has created unique, beautiful and musical exercises. The fact that he plays SO well and can demonstrate everything SO musically, is really valuable
These videos are honestly the most concise jazz improv lessons there are
Keyboardist here. Great stuff, Chad. Like “keys to the kingdom” great. I’m more inspired to play and practice from this vid, than by any I’ve seen from a jazz keyboardist.
one of the best jazz lessons in the world....
Chad explains things really well! I look forward to working on this! This is exactly what I have been wanting to learn and didn't know where to get the information.
Clear, concise, and intelligent. bravo.
I think that's the best mouthpiece he has now. Gives him a thick sound
This is great!!! Much respect for putting some quality content in the world
This is the video I've been waiting for! Thank you, Chad!
Amazing technique. Amazing theory. Amazing musicality.
Can't wait to delve into this! Excellent work!
Thank you, Chad. I wouldnt have money to buy it, so I'm very glad to have this exercices available for free. Wish you the best.
This is a VERY good video. Fundamentally sound and you explain the overall concept very clearly.
What a great sound! Great technique too! Awesome!!
Thanks for explaining so clear the mechanics and theory of play outside conciously!!! Besides your marvelous playing. Beautiful, relaxed and clean! Roberto Sion, senior saxophonist and teacher, Sao Paulo, Brasil.
Chad, we're so grateful for the quality education that you offer us on your channel! Thank you so much 😃😃

Thanks. This is the best video on this subject that I've seen.
Hey Chad! Very clear and well explained. Great video.
This is a fantastic lesson!! Thank you!!
AWESOME LESSON AND PDFs! THANK YOU!!!
Really great
great info thanks Chad!
The 1/2 step substitutes are similar to what pianists and guitarists do on 1-chord vamps. Great ear-training!
Great stuff!!
followed jazzlesson videos Instagram awhile ago and surprised you had your own KZread. Thanks for adding some versatility to my playing!
Very goodmen,good job..the hypermaster musician...🎷😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
Some eye opening licks on this I've been working through! An idea might be to do a series on individual standards and come up with 3 or 4 different solos and transpose them into all 12 keys. I think you said something on the importance of learning in other keys, something like that would be super valuable!
Thanks Chad!!
Merci beaucoup grand musicien

The saxophone is an amazing instrument and this from a keyboardist-drummer-guitarist
Man, that was an awesome lesson. Really well delivered and what a great tone. I'll have to admit that my mind is blown by all the info but some great sounds. Do you have you tube footage playing live? Cheers from OZ
Guitar player here but I will be incorporating these lines. Nice.
Heck yeah

Come to Europe!
Hey thanks for free lessons. I think the inside pentatonic example is great for ... do you call it diatonic shifting? Got that one first from a Barry Harris advocate where you take phrase and move it through the the seven notes. Saw you taught that as well on video about making your own solos. Also the free concerts at Emmet Cohen!
Chad, Awesome sound! On a related note, you also play fast lines super clean (No key flubs). I would love to see you do a video on getting finger technique to sound clean at fast speeds.

Hey Chad, what would you say is the best way to practice by using these PDFs? Pick one exercise a day and really try to learn it in all 12 keys?
Hola
This is above my pay grade
How can anyone give thumbs down to free education? Some people, jeez...
One question : why do you use Lydian augmented for your progression on triads?
If I have to improvise over C Dorian, what can I do to the licks that are shown in Bb in order to have them revolve around C as the tonic? Could I just shift every note up one note on their respective scales?

How to shred over one chord vamps: be Chad LB 😆
i gotta ask, do you write it before playing, or do you transcribe what you just played? you are amazing

It's not the l i c c. He starts with the basic ii-iii-iv-v and goes back down to the III, but goes in a completely different direction. The l i c c would go i-ii, it sounds like he goes non-diatonic there instead
How can one look at a chart that has an insane melody and pick out just a few notes in the measures to still play the song without having to learn exactly what is written?
Can we execute the same idea on the guitar?
Hi Chad, are the phrases you played in the beginning are included in the pdf?
💙🌵😊
Question at 11:09, what is a F7 pentatonic? I've heard of maj and min pentatonics but never a 7th. So if there's an Eb in the F7 pentatonic, what are the scale notes? Brilliant lesson. I will buy the PDF.
@dennisfriberg6386

F7 pentatonic= F G A C Eb, the notes are written in the sheet above the 'F7 pent' chord symbol (but in the order G C A F G Eb C F, remove doubles and use F as starting note👍)

When are you playing in London?
When your solo on Bb Maj 7 and side step down or up a half step does the bass stay on Bb?
