How to Show Your Emotions

I'd like to start making machines more frequently, and ones that don't fail over 300 times... Have fun watching this, nearly three months of work. A subscription would be very much appreciated :)

This is so amazingly intricate! I feel like I would need to watch the video another five times to even come close to fully understanding all of the details that you had to consider in making this! It's absolutely mesmerizing to watch. Each individual element is brilliant, and there are just so many of them! It sounds cheesy, but this is one of those chain reactions that feels like so much more than the sum of its parts (and all its parts are amazing, too). The sheer number of different elements in this machine make it feel, for lack of a better word, almost magical. I'm so glad you stuck with it through all of the failed attempts, because the end result is wonderful. Bravo!

I absolutely adore your machine style. The moving k'nex structure at 1:42 blew my mind and the trick with the kendama was genius.

WOW!! This was really good! Definitely your best machine yet, and it's not even close. I loved all the multi-use elements you included in this. Nice balance between multi-use elements where all the uses are done consecutively (like the raising/lowering track starting at 1:56, or the funnel trick starting at 1:06) and multi-use elements where the uses are spread out, and there are many other things that happen in between each use (like the zigzag board under the table, and the long wooden board that three different balls roll down). Watching this perfect balance between each type of multi-use element made me realize that this is the kind of machine that I enjoy watching the most, and this is the kind of machine that I want to build. On one extreme, almost all of the multi-use elements in the R&L machine are split up. On the other extreme, almost all of the multi-use elements in BLM happen consecutively. I consciously made the decision to do less splitting up of multi-use elements when I made BLM, but maybe I should include more of that when I make my next full-length machine. I'll try to find a good balance, just like you did.

    1. Thank you! 2. I think the reason you are bothered by, in your own machines, the multi-uses being spread out is because you have soooo many of them, haha This machine had nowhere near the amount of multi-use elements as your average machine, so it is not as much to keep track of, as you said in BLM BTS 3. Yes, I wanted to use my bead chain trick suggestion for this machine 4. No, the flat sonimod Jenga blocks, to me, is actually just a pretty regular technique to me. I think that section was more inspired by ピタゴラスイッチ machines

ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!!!!! I really liked all the tricks you used, like the fact that you had a clock in there, the bowser thing, and a lot of other crazy stuff! Truly the best emotion machine I’ve ever seen, though it is the only one I’ve ever seen. Next try an emotion showing domino setup! XD

Also... The bead chain trick at 2:05 is inspired by the trick that Steve & I did in that small machine at Lily's studio, isn't it? We were considering doing this exact trick (adding another track on top) but eventually realized we didn't have enough room to fit that in. Glad to see someone taking that trick to it's next logical step. This one is more of a long shot, but is the trick with the dominoes that collapse into a flat line at 1:56 inspired by the trick on the autotilt board of the Trickshot Machine? Seems pretty similar, but could just be a coincidence.
