It’s not a bad thing to know how to do that because you can control all of the awkward milliseconds that don’t need to be in the scene as well.

@@damiencooper so this multi-came sequence actually involved multiple cameras? or this is with one camera that filmed from various perspectives/angles?

Though we’ve been making music videos for about 4 years now, I am not a videographer and appreciate learning better ways to be more productive. Thanks for giving me a few new techniques to try (I never name my layers, so I will try that to help move things along better)! 🧑🏾‍💻😎🙌🏾

I like your point about playing the original audio being heard in the shots. It's so much easier to reference where your at in the song whne you do it that way. Thanks for the tips!

This is so important to me. Im a independent artist. Im doing everything myself. If I know how to do everything? (Like shooting a video) I won't need a major label. Id be doing everything those guys are doing. I already release music. And I can shoot my own videos. Back in the day? You had to make it big before you could even do that stuff! Today? You don't have to wait to be famous... You can turn yourself into a Star! I have to learn this!

generally you want to accumulate a kit of three lenses, wide focal length, normal/natural focal length, and a telephoto focal length. this is with prime lenses. if you decide to acquire a zoom lens that is able to cover a range of focal lengths, then you will sacrifice quality for convenience.

That’s how I do it for most videos. It’s easier in post and requires no pre production

record the "live" audio of the performance, the main focus is the studio soundtrack being played from your speaker. you can use the internal microphone that is built in your camera, or you can use a shotgun microphone with a more narrow perspective, or you can use a portable recorder. there's many options, not just 1 correct method

As a beginner with a low budget at the moment, can i shoot a decent music video using my Samsung Galaxy Camera (Model - EK-GC-100). I know it wont look as professional as those who use bigger camera's. But im hoping i can still make a good music video using a camera like mine until i get a new one. What do you think?
