Hi Priya, Your video is very helpful and I was able to send 2 couriers via India Post from my hometown in India to Germany. You have clearly mentioned the steps to be followed and is really worth. My first courier delivered at my doorstep in Germany home address and the second one was held at the customs office like you said in the video. I got a letter from the customs office and as mentioned in the letter , I send an email stating the contents in the courier and requested them to send it over DHL. They did so and I got my courier delivered by DHL at my doorstep and paid some amount for their delivery. Keep going Priya 😊

They had charged nearly 20€ at the time of delivery at the delivery point. Is that tax? Somewhere I learnt that if we specify that the content of the parcel is for gift purpose tax will not be levied. Is that true? One more doubt on what basis tax is charged

Hi, thanks for sharing this. I was trying to order some textiles (for my hobby) from India to Germany and all the sellers quoted me DHL parcel prices. I tried to google about taxes that I need to pay on receiving the package in Germany and was told on a forum that DHL will email me the amount I need to pay for VAT and then I can pay online for the taxes without going to customs, afterwhich DHL will send the parcel to my home. Do you or anyone here know if DHL (I mean the courier service DHL, not the Deutschepost service) here will charge extra for this service beyond the VAT that I have to pay? Is this procedure as I mentioned indeed correct and so straightforward? Thanks.

@@VanakkamGermany Thank you for reply . i checked in DHL Sendungsverfolgung , the status shows 'Due to an address error the shipment could not be delivered. There has been an unsuccessful delivery attempt. The delivery person did not find the recipient at home: a replacement delivery to a family member or neighbor was also not possible. Depending on the country in question, the next step involves forwarding the shipment to a nearby post office/parcel shop or attempting delivery again.' on sept 27th . no updates after that .I'm not sure which DHL shop should I go , they have not mentioned it .

Good point, I would recommend, one can visit there and open the packet in front of them. Hopefully you got a decent parcel and nothing else.

Yes you can do it. Preferably send the sealed and branded one. Dont send the Homemade ones, sometimes they do dont accept it.

Hi. -‚ am doing good thank you As shown in tbe video, not all the parcels will be stuck in customs and if at all your parcel gets stucked you can explain them all these stuffs are for personal use and bring them back without paying any customs tax
