You can never be to detailed in a maintenance video like this. Give us the all the show we need! Ty!
Ive been snowboarding 20+ years and found this video super helpful and informative
Dude! Thank you for the video Nitro. I worked as a ski/board tech through college 20 years ago and this totally got me back into the headspace of dialing in gear for me and my kids. This was the most thorough and easy to follow video ever. I will share with everyone I know who needs tuning advice. PS, Nitro makes sick boards too...🤟😎

Awesome!
This is a great edging video! Thanks for making!
I didn't know these tips when I started and it definitely made it a lot harder to learn. Dulling the front and back past the contact point made huge difference. Great video!
loved it ! finally someone who knows what he is talking about. No exaggerating the efford and cost but teaching the necessary steps to get a perfect edge
Now that is the professional way to tune, thankyou for the knowledge. I was wondering why my new t-rice pro was so grabby, need to de-tune those front edges a bit.

Yes de-tune those front edges for a smoother transitional ride.
Its a Kunzmann / FK / SKS multi tuner. Also other brands have the exact same one. Different colour or label. Its ideal, has a coarse file included, and like shown in the vid accepts the basic 2,75inch / 70mm DMT diamond stones.
If only you had made this video during last season when I was looking for advice. 😂 thanks!

Sorry - we are a little slow sometimes...
This was a wonderful video, as well as the maintenance video. I am on my first ever board, a Yes Basic, and have yet to take care of the base. When sharpening edges with the tools you use does "edge hold technology" ever cause a hinderance? My board has underbite, which means my edges under my feet are indented a few mm. Can the tools just ride along that edge no problem, even if it get wobbly?
Nitro should publish the base and side angles for all its boards. When I contact Nitro customer service for a specific board, I've gotten different answers at various times. I simply need to know what is the factory base and side edge angles for my Nitro Woodcarver? Thanks.
This guy seems chill af
Hi, I have a nitro santoku, what degrees should I use for tuning my edges? 89º or 90º? Thank you guys keep doing the good work!!
I thought your not to file against the grain. Only go one direction is what I’ve been told?
Dang, i wish there were links for these tools in the description

Great video, quick question though. Most files have a specific direction to use however you are going back and forth?

I saw that. He shouldn’t have done that. You can go both directions with the diamond stones but never with a file. Files only work one direction and going both ways will ruin them.

@@WontSeeReplies exactly. A lot of useful info but that's a big no no as far as I'm aware
Where can I find the orange snowboard vice you are using? Looks much better than others I’ve seen.
If you have rocker underfoot, would you detune up to where the camber start?
What multi tool is that?
What is the website you said at the end of the video?
When sharpening ANYTHING it should be done directionally. Rubbing a sharpener back and forth on any metal edge will create hills and valleys. In the case of a snowboard, unless you're detuning edges, you should only sharpen nose to tail.
At 8:18 do u pull the edge tool only in one direction or both. Also with the diamond file do u go both ways or only one way
Who makes that blue file multi-tool? Where can I get it?

So you should never use the file guide to tune the base edge right just the side edge?
@mariobennetti8393

I have seen videos where people use the guide and file the base edge while the board is laying with the bottom facing up and then flip the board on its edge and file each side edge too (what you did here)

@@NitroSnowboardsOfficial should all file guides work with filing the base edge cause mine is from Demon United and i don’t think it balances well on the base edge because of the way it’s set up
What's this guy's doing sharpening both ways. He has no idea what he's doing

Idk, Knut has been around and in the jndustry for over 30 years.. he might know a think or two, especially being team manager for Nitro.

@@marksanchez0918that is proof of authority which sometimes isn’t enough as we can see. Files are indeed one directional you should only pull them. Different story with diamond stones though.
When I do my ski edges, I use variety of files and diamonds. Coarse file first then bastard file, then fine file. After that I use coarse diamond with 200 grit then 400 and than 800. Sometimes finish with Arkansas stone which polish the edge to the highest gloss 🫡 to me this looks not professionally done 🤷🏼♂️
