    Do you mean it won't begin exporting at all? Does it crash? Or does it simply take a ridiculous amount of time? Depending on your computer, adding an effect like this can add considerable time to exports, especially if you're adding it to most, if not all of your footage. .

    what's the point if you can't see it on online video? almost everything ends up as an online video.

  • @MotionArrayTutorials

    @MotionArrayTutorials

    5 жыл бұрын

    Good question. Truthfully when it comes to online video effects like these are far more subtle than you might imagine. However, there are a couple reasons why it's still a good reason. First, you don't know how someone will view your video. If they view it in 360p in a small window display, yeah it wont make a huge difference. But if they view it at full res in full screen, then you'll certainly be able to tell the difference clear as day. However, the point isn't to be able to notice a clear difference but to make your image look just that much more appealing as it's taken in by your audience. Little changes go a long ways to constructing the feel of your video, and our demonstrations were a little extreme to show that feeling. When there's no before and after, all you're left with is that nice feeling from a slightly crisper image.

    Hi Arjit. We had a problem originally uploading this video with viewers having difficulty seeing the finished results in these demos unless they were playing in full screen at full resolution. We decided to overdramatize this example so that people understood the concept. We have other tutorials that go into how to salvage footage that is truly that out of focus.

  • @ArjitRaj

    @ArjitRaj

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@MotionArrayTutorials That didn't help either. I saw the demo and was overjoyed - thinking, wow! Now I will learn this. And watched the entire video and tried the same steps and got nothing close to that. A better way is to explicitly mention it as "overdramatization" on the demo.

    @@ArjitRaj the intro was a regular clip with a blur effect added, then blur effect removed. If your clip looks like the start of the intro, you have missed focus and you will not save the image, sharpening does not save your poor ability to use a camera, it helps make LOG footage crisp since there is no sharpening in camera so they are soft

  • @Leez

    why would you intentionally blur the clips for a better before/after effect? Kind of like lying to the viewer...

  • @MotionArrayTutorials

    @MotionArrayTutorials

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Leon. This was a tough one for us, as the differences can be incredibly subtle and upon first viewing with no blurring, it was hard to see the difference with KZread / internet compression. The goal was to show a clear distinction to help the user understand the intended outcome but we can understand how this may have come across as deceptive. Looking back a better option would have been to release high res still frames that the user could view in their own time.

    100%, that's a good eye. The reason we chose to do that is to show a clear idea of what we were going after. We released a video a while before this one on how to create fake film grain and we actually had to re-upload because people couldn't see the difference between before and after once the youtube compression and processing had taken place. We want the effects we show to be realistic without having to "fake demonstrate", but we also want people to be able to see clearly what we're going after. Hope that makes sense 😀
