How To Sharpen Clipper Blades At Home (diy) Dangers, Risk and Warning!

You must watch this video before you attempt to sharpen clipper blades at home or in the shop. The DIY techniques on KZread can ruin your blades. Sharpening blades on sandpaper, sharpening blades on a waterstone or whetstone can both take the hollow out of the blades so they won't cut. Even those who sharpen blades on a flat stone normally used to sharpen scissor blades can quickly and easily wreck the blades. Bonnie Megowan explains why only a tapered style professional blade hone can create the right edge and sharpness on clipper blades for barbers or stylists or groomers.
This video is about clipper blade sharpening. Would you like to learn to sharpen clipper blades? Bonnie Megowan teaches clipper blade sharpening in person and on-line. This is the link bonika.com/products/clipper-b...

Finally a good explanation WHY my $100+ dog grooming clippers won't cut after a different video said I could sharpen my clipper blades with sandpaper on flat surface. Wrong! At least I know now

I really appreciate this video. My daughter is a groomer and I thought I’d learn to sharpen her clippers so she wouldn’t have to take them to the sharpener. I thought it would be like sharpening a chainsaw. She can take them to the sharpener. The equipment is too expensive to justify the purchase.

You might think of other groomers in your area. This may be a great side business for you are her. It's much easier on the back than grooming.

That was a really good explanation to why I need to take my clippers to a professional and not have my husband do them on his knife stone. Thank you.

1:10 show more light in center AND is higher in center? huh... nope? The light shows where there's a low , if light shows in center then the center is lower than the sides. It's a concave disk : a dish.

Thanks. It looks like a hollow grind with spring tension really helps clippers work for a long period of time. Thanks.
