    I started with a lansky. Which works great but man it takes hours, then got a tormek knockoff, and I've really screwed up a few knives with that, so I got the edge pro apex, and it's great, but like the lansky, takes a lot of time, especially if you're making a knife, not just sharpening your existing knives. I think I gotta give this a shot, thanks for another great video. I echo the other commenter too, keep it up, subs take time, your vids are 100% well put together and great. Your timeline and editing is on the money imo.

    Love your channel and your designs. Questions on the paper wheel…are you setting your secondary bevel on your 2x72 or the paper wheel?…also, have you had any issues with heat? Assuming your grinder is standard 3500RPM give or take.

  • @gentrycustomknives8008

    @gentrycustomknives8008

    2 жыл бұрын

    I used to completely set the bevels and finish on the paper wheel, however I was having to re grit my wheel every couple months so now I’m doing most of my sharpening on the 2x72 then using the wheels for touch ups. Heat can be an issue if the wheel is worn down or your applying to much pressure.

    Here is an easy way to make a visual aid for the sharpening angle. Take a flat piece of copy paper and think of it as a circle of 360°. Fold it once lengthwise. Now you have 180°. Fold sideways to make a 90°. Then fold twice from the 90° and you will have 22-1/2°.
