The process is a little complicated, but in this video we talk you through it step by step as we do it ourselves. All you need is a VPN subscription, a Windows computer, an ethernet cable and, of course, your PS5. This method works with the PS5 as well as any version of the PS4.

So i must leave the laptop always on?
So if I’m in my PC and it doesn’t show that ethernet cable connected, it shows my Wi-Fi connected but when I go into my PS five my land cable is connected as Wi-Fi. Is it still working?
Does this work with a usb to Ethernet adapter on a laptop?

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't!
I keep trying this but when I go to connect on the ps5 it says your isp or router is stopping the ps5 connecting to the network? Any ideas cheers

That's not something we've come across in our testing, but we've seen it discussed online. Aside from buying a new router (which is a very expensive, if effective, solution to the issue), there's a couple of things you could try. The first is to contact your ISP and explain the issue and they can attempt to remedy it for you. The second is to try manually changing your PS5's DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - your automatic DNS may have timed out, so this would be you changing to Google's. The third is to check your parental settings on your router to make sure that it's not blocking access. And the fourth potential solution is to log into your router and try creating a guest network, then connecting your PS5 to that. Good luck!
