In this video, join me as I discuss with Chanova from That's Sew Nova ( / @thatssewnova ) all about waxed canvas. You can find waxed canvas in my shop here: sewsweetness.com/product-cate...

Another suggestion. If you have tons of yardage, get a rolling clothes rack and use skirt hangers. I have found the velvet lining on the inside of the hangers as well as the evenly distributed pinching of the hanger doesn't leave pinch marks on my non "ironable" materials (leather, vinyl, etc). Plus, it keeps your stash visible, and gives you the feeling of shopping at home. Lol
I follow Chanova and I love her channel as well as yours. I want to try this one day. You are both so talented. Thanks for reposting this.
I work with waxed canvas quite a bit. Sometimes I remelt the wax using an iron or hot air gun and smooth it back out ( or just change the look). Also, a friend of mine washed a bag I made for her and she said it turned out really well.
Looking forward to trying waxed canvas, just need to figure out which pattern I want to try.
I’d love to see a demo on actually waxing a piece of material or various types of material such as denim, cotton, or other type. Do you just rub the wax on or melted and paint? I’m clueless.

Chanova has a video under her nuggets videos.
Can one use water slide graphics onto to wax canvas? I’m thinking for Indian type stretched canvas like for room dividers?
I think for straps on a bag, I would sew the canvas to webbing.

That is going to be quite thick. I use webbing inside of quilting cotton and that is thick enough. I would experiment or use polypropylene webbing on its own . It is strong and lasting.
Are you and violet still taking riding lessons? Do you own a horse?
