Very pretty! If you wanted to, you could use hem tape or bias and stitch it on the under side when you attach your trim. Then, on the underside of the garment, hand stitch down. This would hide any raw edges. Loved your gold trim. Nice video.

I would totally wash it first. I am not sure how old it is but you might want to hand wash it with dish soap or a speciality soap depending on what it is made of.

Such a great idea. Makes me wanna add trims and/or borders to lots of my clothes. Will likely do that to these two dresses I'm trying to alter. Am trying to make them into skirts and tops, and, need to get some wide elastic to finish them with. Am presently working on just one dress so i can see how it turns out for me - if my ideas will work out right. And, I think I will put some sort of border on each of the individual pieces. TYSM for sharing this video as it has given me so many different ideas. Love your channel bunches ... Please keep the videos coming for us. 👍😻❣️😍

Meant to say how the dresses I'm working on are high - low dresses where one side of the front part overlaps the other side instead of being one continuous edging. Hope I explained that correctly. Thank you so much again for sharing your techniques and knowledge with us. 😍❣️😻👍

@@SewAnastasia It does sound fun. The first dress I'm working on didn't turn out right when I sewed the elastic to the skirt "part." So, I took it off and am trying again to get the waistband correct. I got a bit discouraged then. But, I always think about something you said a few videos ago. Can't remember the exact words, but, the gist of it all is that we all have different tastes, and, should make our clothes (even when we alter them) as we like them to be - not necessarily to please other people. 😉 TYSM again for sharing your videos with us. 😍❣️😻

Hey girlfriend, it’s me again I’m totally scrapping my pattern I got ;( I specifically got this book and I can’t figure out what size to cut out on the pattern try to contact the company there’s no number so anyway I’m really sad and frustrated but last night I decided that I can’t do it so I found this other old 1960s pattern and I’m gonna try that -but I wanted to do trim on a top of a dress 👗 do you have a video for that? my fabric is white with navy nautical wheels ship wheels around it and then I was gonna do a red ❤ trim on the top part of the dress and bottom. I’m guessing you just fold it over, SEW 🪡 it down…? This one you showed kind of hangs off and I wanted one that folded over?

What do you do with the end of a thick brocade trim that’s too thick to turn under, if it ends in a visible place on your garment? It’s a constant problem for me as I use trims on everything 😂

@@SewAnastasia good to know! I like to apply a little bit of Fray Check on the edges of the trims. I have found that even witb the zigzaging there can still be some unraveling.
