Summer is here and that means it's time for some fun skirt projects. This tutorial shares the pattern making and sewing for this paneled maxi skirt with pockets. I used four metres of fabric in total for this piece.

The actual thing that has happened to me this year so far is me having to change my mind from getting married out of depression to follow my dreams, though I could have learnt a skill along the line but I opted to face my schooling instead... Now that am done with schooling, I realised there's more to me than getting married which is to explore... Now I explore with different sewing styles on kimdavis ...and get married out of my own willingness rather than out of depression... 😊

Hi priscillia . One good thing that happened to me this year was that, during the lockdown here in Lagos, I was trusting God for an educational tablet for my 2 year old son. I wasn't working so money wasn't coming in. And I really wanted my son to have the tab so he could learn his abc's and 123's at home since he couldn't go to daycare cos of the lockdown. Miraculously without asking, someone blessed me with some money and I was able to buy it. Now my son is really enjoying his tab. Infact he's loving it!!!!! 😍😍😍 Thank you Jesus.

My 92 yr old mother in law is terminally ill and while that is terrible the good thing that has happend to my husband and I is being able to be with her during her last days. You see, we are missionaries in East Africa (10yrs and counting) and as you well know, it's expensive to fly back and forth. This yr we came to visit her in Feb and were to leave again in April. Then lock down happened. Flights were canceled. Her health has worsened and, had we left as scheduled, we would have missed her final days. We thank God for this small blessing during these difficult times.

hi there, thank you for all yr wonderful videos & glad that you & yr family is safe. for me, i found despite all the issues that we, all over the world, are forced to face currently, the good still trump it all. there are 100 good deeds and acts of love shown in every 1 bad thing that occurs. people are so willing to share so much love and help and in encouraging each other across continents- just like yrself- beyond what we can imagine. despite all this, i feel love & hope in humans. cheers to rediscovering a stronger and caring us!

this year surely has been so tough soo many bad things has happened. but if I think of one good thing that happened in my life I actually can come up with many good things. due to the lockdown I learnt a lot of new stuffs like sewing my own dress finally in which I succeeded and also became an expert in cooking. also i took this time to bond with my family and got to know a lot of new stuffs about my husband. just like they say every cloud has a silver lining this COVID-19 situation also has taught us a lot and made us newer better people.

Love your clips and your tutorials. You are truly an inspiration to so many of us. Thanks for sharing your wonderful knowledge. These are challenging times.. The power over model, patriarchy, systemic racism and generational trauma of the last 401 years since slavery have converged and are finally being confronted. *It's long overdue. It's a challenging and painful chapter in history yet at the same time, the change is so crucial. So we can evolve spiritually and understand each other and help heal one another and the earth.* Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings, Priscilia, during these challenging times. *Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.*

First of all, I want to say a big thank you for this tutorial. One good thing that has happened to me this year is learning fashion designing online even though I don't have a sewing machine yet. I've been wanting to learn for a long time but due to the clause of no sewing machine, I just stay back. But this year, I decided to go and learn (mostly online) and I do all my practicals with needle and thread stitches and I'm actually doing well in it.

best thing that happened to me is that I was able to connect with my family members. With work, it was very hard to have a nice relationship with my parents, and I am very blessed by God that during this time, I am still able to have my family around and feel comforted by that. Not being able to work has definitely made me depressed, not making enough money to support my family, but I am slowly starting to recover from these negative thoughts, and this whole situation has really helped me realize that having loved ones around me is a blessing and I should not take that for granted ever! This was another great video Priscilla :))

I'm grateful for this year,my sewing game has improved though not where i want it to be and watching your videos have really helped me as a self taught designer. I couldn't afford a proper training but watching your sewing and fashion tips videos has really been of great help. I'll be grateful if I win this £100 so i can make up and purchase an overlock machine. I'm a big fan of your work on IG as i follow all your pages.

Beautiful video, I must commend, the tutorial is self explanatory. Thanks. Well great things have happened in my life this year, finished my NYSC this year and in the course of it I learnt how to sew, and I really want to improve and make it bigger as my means of livelihood. I hope with more of your videos and I would learn easier ways of sewing and neatly. Thanks so much for all your effort you put in.God bless you.

Wonderful tutorial, one good thing that happened to me this year is that I overcame my fear of sewing outside my comfort zone and I intend to push myself even more. Thank you for the tutorials.

Thank you for saying this truth out loud and up front. We are three years on now, and justice is creeeeping up on some of the bad actors in our country at long last. However, this work is not finished and we must remain aware and active to bring peace and justice into existence. I so appreciate you.

You just gave me what I needed😁, I have been thinking about making a maxi skirt for so long. I will definitely do this project and send a picture to you 💃... I actually always like your videos before watching Everytime because I know I cannot get anything less than expected.. you are a Blessing. One good thing that happened to m this year. MY BABY GIRL😭 came to the world this year.. she is the most precious gift ever😍😍😍.. it has been so scary really having to be home with her all day without going out due to the pandemic, so mostly I just stare at her and worry all day sometimes or be happy... It has been such a journey so far. I love you 😘😘😘😘😘

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! One good thing that has happened to me this year is resigning from my job to pursue my fashion design dream. I know it seems risky especially in a time like this. It’s been an idea for years but I finally disregarded fear and anxiety to take the plunge. By God’s grace it’ll work out for good ❤️

One good thing that has happened to me this year is learning to finally love myself and to seek my happiness from within and not from people or things around me. I have been struggling with depression for some years now which got worse earlier this year after I was scammed of my business capital for fabrics sales which I started last year to assist myself with school. I felt I was going to drop out of school but am presently getting better now and plan to start my business all over again from the scratch once schools resume and the lockdown finally ends. Thanks for your tutorials they inspire me to sew more and improve on myself.

One good thing that has happened to me this year🤔.. For the past five years before this, a particular date has been kinda special to me (and no its not my birthday😃,or anyone else's ).. And this year, that date was even supposed to be extra special but It wasn't going to be cos I had kinda failed at what made that date special...i didn't even realise until the night 🌃 of that date, that it ended up being special,( not for the reason it had been special for the last five years ).. But cos I had gotten my very first sewing machine that day with the help of my parents ❤️.. It was like God telling me; that's not the only thing you're good at, Look! You'd be good at this too😊 I started this sewing journey ✂️about last year in October and yeah yeah it isn't all roses 🌹 and rainbow🌈 but I'm really really glad I took the step.
