You really need to cut the selvage off because if you don't when it is washed it will shrink and you can't press it flat again. And that apply to and fabric you use.
What is the width?
I am confused. If you cut the fabric in half wouldn’t you need 4 yards to end up with 2 yard pieces? You did not say how many yards to buy. I want really long wraps. Thank you, but your instructions are not clear. Are you folding on the right side of the fabric or the wrong side ?

You need a 2 yard length of fabric. You cut the width of the fabric in half. Each piece should measure 72 inches in length by 22 or 22.5 inches in width. Fold the hems to the wrong side of the fabric.
