Look for the Threads video by Kenneth D King for installation of invisible zippers. Takes a little longer but the results are worth it.

I bought a sewing pattern without images / only text for instruction and as a beginner, I was so confused by the belt part being separated from the zipper and connected with a button. thanks for showing this I just finished a skirt and this was how the pattern called for but I just couldn't get my head around the illustrations and done it slightly different it came out nice but this is a more efficient way of getting the perfect finish

Thank you! How do you determine how far from the raw edge to sew the longer side (where you used chalk)? I’m having issues that when I turn out the waist band that side is shorter than the other side.

There are no exact answers on how to do this or that. Everything needs to be learned. To minimize discrepancies, sweep all seams with a thread.

No, not necessarily. But there are also such curvy the waist band.

This is a stupid question, but why do some garments have overlap on the waistband and others do not? Is there a rule? What are the pros and cons?

Great visuals. The music kind of distracted me so I turned off the sound.

I assume this is for people who already have a better knowledge of sewing than me because I'm a beginner and have no idea what is going on, I've made some skirts with elastic waistbands and thought I'd try a zipper, need some narration I guess because I'm lost.

tbh if she can explain a little bit and do it a little bit slower will be perfect. It may not super helpful for beginners.
