Thank you for the pin stopper tip! The amount of times I’ve cut clean through the bottom of my button holes makes me hang my head in shame!

bless you for this! I didn't want to get a presser foot attachment for buttons and I had a hunch I could get around by doing something like this but this really helped nail down the details and avoid unnecessary mistakes!!!💛💛 quick and to the point, love it!!!

I really appreciate your videos! When I make buttonholes I like to use “Frey Check” liquid on the buttonhole before I cut it open… this reduces the amount of wild threads. I also like using a small wood block and a chisel to cut the buttonholes… they are very sharp and very precise.

Another insightful video. Great job. Always nice to know how to make a buttonhole manually. Also, when I cut the buttonhole open, I squirt a few drops of liquid 'Fray check' on it to prevent unraveling of the cut stitches.

But won't the fabric fray after cutting it? I find the loose threads drive me crazy, depending on the fabric, which is why I cut then sew

How about a demo/ tutorial on an inseam button hole on a shirt or coat. A lost art for button holes.! This was once a classic blouse/shirt button hole, never see them anymore and most modern sewers do not even know they were once a technique. ,

@@CorneliusQuiring realistically older machines are built to last literally 100+ years. these newer builds got plastic parts and computerised ones get outdated real quick
