I just purchased LearnDash last week using a link you supplied one time within your emails that I receive from you. I just had to delete the Paid Membership Pro last night - it was hiding my Login in the WP-Admin and was treating me like a student and wouldn't allow me to go to the back-office off my site. This is terrific news. Not quite ready to do this yet but very happy to see that it is now a feature. I was worried to have to integrate too many different types of plugins from different 3rd party creators. It's great to get a plugin like this from learndash that should integrate perfectly.

I can see why you might want an auto-redirect for non-members, although I personally would get confused if a website did that to me. I prefer they way they did this, although it could be better to have different messages for different membership groups. For my use, I hope they add shortcodes to protect bits of content within a post or page.

I may have missed it, but what does the sign up process resemble for those who enroll in the group?

Yes you just cant ask recurring payments. So the membership would be a 1time buy

Great start by Learndash but handling the memberships from groups seems confusing. I think that they should have made a membership option outside of the groups.

Thanks Adam for this tutorial. Is there a way to create a membership group as an Admin for a client (Teacher) and set him as Group Leader but never allow him add students to the group for free. It's like selling him a room on my website with open number of seats where he can talk to his students and offer them courses. But for the students to get to the group they need to enroll and pay a fee.

Hey, really good video. Thank you! I have a question: I sell courses. Those courses are available for users for a year. After that year, I offer a monthly subscription or membership to access all the materials. That's easy to do following your video. However, I want them to have access to all the courses they bought before the membership. Am I clear? They buy a course and have access to it for a year > after a year they buy the membership to continue having access to the materials > they should be able to see the course they bought before. How could I achieve this?

long shot this Adam I have 3 memberships set up for various payment options monthly/quarterly/annually etc on one course but for some reason when someone subscribes they cant see any of the course content.. any ideas why not?

Hi how does one restrict a course to say 25 members pers course and not more? WIth Learndash?

If the membership expires after 30 days / 90 days / half year / annual, I see that the groups does not have that. Should I opt for a membership plugin instead?

Thank you for the through concise content its been so helpful!! I do have one further question on this approach feature here on this video. If I am looking to use subscriptions through learndash as you lay out here, how would I go about setting up Stripe for these purposes? I have the extension/add on downloaded and have test mode keys entered but not sure how the whole checkout page in stripe is formulated. Do you have any videos covering this by any chance?

Oh yes, you can still use LearnDash, you just won't have access to support and updates. I do personally prefer something self hosted over those pricy hosted options like Teachable.

Can we have a course with 10 lesson, but only the first 2 lessons available to the free membership. Just like udemy. Thank you

Yes you can make certain lessons free.

It wasn't confusing at all with the membership and Group change. It was, however, confusing with the switch over to another account but then realizing that this is only for TESTING, Right? lol

Not at all. What seems to be going on? If you are on Facebook, Kadence has a Facebook Group to report issues. They have a support desk as well. facebook.com/groups/webcreatorcommunity/

@@WPCrafter I can definitely say that trying to follow your video with LearnDash enabled kept presenting choices that looked similar but with learndash titles. And i had another builder which was the one I thought you recommended by brain somebody, with a similar name. I deactivated learndash and deleted the other and it sort of works right, but i wonder if somehow my site is damaged now with the various coding that each of these softwares stuck into wordpress. Sorry, I can't abide Facebook.

From Kadence Tech Support. Are you using WordPress 5.5 beta? Or the Gutenberg plugin? it was recently updated to only include a few blocks in the inial input and you either have to search or click view more to see all the blocks. To further clarify Gutenberg is part of WordPress core. But there is also a plugin which you can install and that includes a different version of Gutenberg then what is in core. That version changes how the add blocks sowkrs. So I was asking if you were using that plugin or WordPress 5.5 beta which includes another version of Gutenberg then what is currently in core. If you answered yes to either of those questions then it would explain what you were seeing because "it was recently updated to only include a few blocks in the inital input".

There is no such settings in My Learndash, and according to the site, I have the latest version. I only post this here because LearnDash support is not very supportive. Anyone else missing this update?

It occurred to me after leaving the last comment, that - since I originally watched this video a few days ago - and then came back today to re-watch it today as a tutorial - I skipped over the first part where you changed the name from "Groups" to "Memberships". And that is why I got confused. I also finally figured out how to actually send a support ticket on the LearnDash website. But like WAY too many other companies on-line, they make it FAR too difficult to simply submit a ticket. It's a shame, that trend of support becoming less and less "supportive". But I GREATLY appreciate YOUR support. So, I figured out the issues that I was having. But thank you VERY much for checking back. It is an honor to get your personal attention. Keep Up The Excellent Work! P.S. Any thoughts on selling LearnDash courses with the Native PayPal support rather than WooCommerce or UpSell Plugin? I have tried the other two and now I'm almost ready to just go back to the bare bones LearnDash/PayPal integration. Thanks Again!

So I'm realizing here that I won't be able to establish a Monthly Membership as opposed to just a course membership - for some courses would be added the first month and others the 2nd month and so on. SAD.... Hopefully, LearnDash steps up their membership/group access features.

This Membership feature is exciting. If Kadence can create the same layout that BuddyBoss uses for its course layout I would be impressed. Example: snipboard.io/6e1slq.jpg

Currently it no longer provides custom labels in settings, it's a shame :( Surely they saw your video and realized that people could do this and their membership and restrict content plugin decreased relevance and that is why they decided to remove the custom labels
