Don't disable the windows defender, just open port 21 in the Inbound rules of the firewall!
Thanks for this useful information. Please guide on how to access our FTP server through the internet if we are not connected to the local network. I am getting errors while accessing FTP over clients in another network.
Very poor the FTP feature in Windows(any Windows), unless you'd use a third party program such as Filezilla Server or Xampp etc. The FTP Windows feature allows you to use a folder, only from a certain partition whereas other third programs let you use an entire partition or more then one partition if you want to!
