Best video about this stuff that I have seen in over 5 years of working with wireless mics. As a total newbie just thrown into a job, I've been hobbling along all this time. Now, I get it. Thank you so much!!!🤩

Thank you so much but I'm having issues with controlling the volume of 2 mics. I don't want them to share the same channel because i want to individually change their volumes. My shure receiver doesn't have a volume lever on it. When I connect via 1/4 one if the microphones will not play out the other speaker. Is this because I need to use XLR cables instead?
You really did a great job!!!!
Thank you for taking your time in explaining. I did not get a cord so will I have to purchase one? I have to rewind to get the name if so
Great job, very well explained💯

Hello Kettner, Thank you for the video. I have the exact Shure ULXP4 receiver. I would like to hook it up to the BMB DX333 G2 Karaoke Power Mixer. So far, I connected them together using the 1/4" both end straight from the Receiver to my Karokee Mixer. However, there is a "hissing" sound as soon as I turn on the Microphone. Today, I looked the back of the ULXP4, I noticed there are 2 ports: the 1/4" AUX/High Z output and the 3 pin XLR Balance Low Z Mic/Line output. I wonder if using the 3 pin XLR Balance Low Z Mic/Line output to connect to my BMB Mixer would help vs. the hissing sound? My BMB only have 1/4 MIC in. Could you please help to guide me beside the current way of connecting the 1/4" cable from the ULXP4 receiver to my 1/4 Mic in Mixer, can I use the 3 pin XLR Balance Low Z Mic/Line output instead? If I use this port, then, I will need the 3 pin XLR cable to 1/4in. But, there are 2 different kinds for this cable: balanced vs. unbalance. Which one should I use? Thank you so much for your guidance. Best Regards, Duc

My wireless microphone receiver has gain knobs for each of the 4 microphones. I also use xlr cords to connect each mic into its own channel on my audio mixer. Great question. It's basically the same process. You can think of a wireless microphone kit in the same way that you think of a wired microphone. Your wireless receiver still has an XLR output, so you need to connect your XLR output to the computer. Wireless 58 > Radio > Wireless Receiver > XLR Cable > Audio Interface or Audio Mixer > USB Cable > Computer.
Please make more Vdos on wireless systems... Like saramonic transmitter and receiver... I couldn't find much on KZread.
Can the xlr cable connect d receiver directly to a speaker? And is it gonna work ok?
@kettnercreative

Depends on the speaker. If the speaker is self powered and has a line input - the receiver and speaker have to be set to line in. Alternatively, you can set the receiver and speaker to mic level input, if you have those options

You need a separate receiver for each. If you use two mics on one receiver, the mixer will only hear the strongest signal at any given time.

I literally know nothing about wireless microphones .. but we need some for a starting our shows. We are just singing no instruments involved and no recording . Rookie question here. Can someone tell me if its possible to run two microphone systems from two different brands at the same event? Yes I need to upgrade but I haven't booked that many events yet as I'm a new DJ, but at the moment I have a Samson system (lav and handheld) and a Pheynx Pro system (lav and mic). Could I possibly use both at my event this Friday? Also with the new Digital systems coming out would the Shure SLX4 system which are heavily discounted be a good buy or just save for the upgrade? Thanks to anyone that can help!

@@kettnercreative Wow I didn't think I would get a reply before Friday! Definitely subscribing and joining! So On the Pheynx system I can see the frequency but not on the Samson system so I need to figure out which frequency the groups and channels are for that system which I hope is on their website, then I should be fine? this is awesome! This is my 1st large event (I did fully disclose that I did not have pro mic equipment) they are more concerned with music. After this Ill be able to buy a new system torn between Sennheiser EW-d or SLXD. or save money and buy 2 older SLX4 systems. Thanks again!

You need an audio mixer. You connect the TV audio RCA out into the mixer And connect the microphone Into one of the mixers channel. A small Mixer with RCA input will work fine. If you are using it for karaoke a mixer with effects will work better.
How do I unmute the receiver?
@kettnercreative

If you have a mute, it would be on the transmitter side. A single press of the power button usually does it.
How many mics can connect to one receiver?
@kettnercreative
3 жыл бұрын
Many, but only one can operate at a time. If you have multiple mics on the same channel, the closest mic/strongest signal will lock all other mics out.
How do digital wireless mics compare to these?
@kettnercreative
4 жыл бұрын
Good question, there are a lot of variables. In general, digital wireless systems tend to have "better" audio as far as dynamic response and frequency response. However, just like everything else that's digital (HDMI, SDI, Etc.), it's either on or off. For low end wireless systems, this is extremely noticeable with big dropouts even when your transmitter and receiver are 15' apart. Medium to high end analog wireless systems have been designed in such a way that the audio section is actually quite good and comparable to high end digital systems(low latency, good dynamic response), especially if you're using it for speech which requires far less dynamic range and range of frequencies. Hope this helps,

Sir can i apply the phantom power to cordless mic desk top receiver, what will happen if i apply the phantom power to cordless desktop mic receiver, can i phantom power apply or not . Sir iam waiting for your answer
@Peregrine101
Жыл бұрын
Phantom power is used by microphones that need power to magnetize an element in the microphone to pick up sound. The microphones that are used as wireless microphones are dynamic microphones and they don't need the phantom power. So if your mixer or audio interface can provide phantom power you don't need it in this situation. AFAIK It won't hurt immediately if phantom power is left on by accident, but that is for somebody who knows this situation better to answer. I wouldn't be surprised if the quality of the microphone is involved somehow.
