How to Setup a speedline;
This is our version of a controlled speed line. Ive always had issues with other controlled speed lines. I think that our variation of the controlled slide line can offer a solution for smoother operation. in this video we will demonstrate the controlled slideline using :
Dmm Rigging hub
Dmm revolver carbiner with micro pulley
xring pocket sling
dmm impact block
tenex pocket sling
mini impact block
samson 9 16
samson 1/2
samson 1/2
tenex 10mm sewn eye prusik
cmi steel locking gate carabiner
The purpose of this video is to observe further possibilities of a controlled slideline configuration
I really do hope you guys enjoy the video, hopefully i may be able to help someone.

    These are fun to work through, the forces are interesting, and the video is clear. Just a note of caution, regarding the angle made by the two arms of the weight bearing line. The tighter the support line, the higher the forces. Once you go over an angle of 120 deg, there is a multiplier effect on the tension of that line. That line tension is pulling your two support trees sideways, and it may be far greater than the weight of the piece you're moving. The shock loading of a falling piece is also multiplied, transmitted through the two arms of the support line, causing a sideloading shock on the two support trees. For example consider a 500 lb piece, with a 150 deg angle. A back of the envelope calculation shows almost a thousand pounds on that support line, and the shock of a falling piece could easily double that. Unlike standard rigging, you can't let the line slip through a portawrap to cushion the blow and distribute that energy as heat. And unlike standard rigging, the force is sideways, not axial. Once you get anything over a hundred pounds, think twice about how you're tied in. Consider other support lines on each side to distribute that shock to adjacent trees.

    Your absoulutely right, and like i stated in the video this is designed to be a light weight system and you can set it up for heavy weight as well. But thank you for pointing that information out for someone who may possibly need to know. Im sure that the example shown in the video would easily hold upwards of 1500+ plus pounds. Just need to be weary of setting up on smaller limbs, although.... this setup through our use of it wouldnt exeed more then a few hundred pounds reapeatedly. Its for technical rigging, not big pieces. If the situation allowed us to take big pieces, there would likely be no need for this system in that senario
