Only one who actually had what I was looking for, thank you
You're the only video explaining this succinctly. Thank you good sir. Appreciate it
I found that looking at the Volume nob like a clock and setting it up at 2 o’clock is a perfect level to start at

Lovely video thank you❤️
Oh yeah was funny as hell 🤣
Watch some many vides, just a view of your focusrite soveld the problem. Thank you! Certainly gotten a sub!!
Thanks fam
If you hit yellow on a focuswrite it means u hit -6 dBFS while its recommend to record on -18 dBFS. Meaning if it hits yellow its clipping. This is in the userguide under Hardware Features and then #3

Preciate this info bro I just realized my songs were clipping and learned how to mix and master trying to fix it but the start of the problem was that I recorded my vocals thinking it was fine to hit yellow when in reality I should’ve only been in the green. I wish I knew this a year ago but you gotta learn the hard way sometimes.
If i setup the neve 1073 native plugin to track vocals on my daw should I dial down the gain on my focusrite interface and let the neve do the job ?
I can't seem to understand what's wrong with the mic though. I did everything but my mic is picking up my voice as if Im miles away and there is like this distortion. Could it be a manufacturing problem or something else Im doing?
First of all, thank you for the video, very helpful. When I have connected my TLM102 to Focusrite 2i2 out of the box, I have noticed that in the Windows settings the microphone (input) is set to 52/100 by default. That's before any manipulations with amp, DAW or any other software. All other casual mics connected to my machine are set to 100, be it gaming or casting headsets. So the question is - should I crank TLM102 in Windows Input sound settings to 100/100 before setting microphone levels on the interface? Are all your mics set to 100? Also, what format do you choose in the settings - do you stick to 2 channels, 24bit, 44100hz or do you set it to higher frequency? Once again, thank you for your effort and time.
Thanks!!!
Me encanta que ponga subtitulos en español. Siento que voy a aprender mucho de este canal.

De nada Estoy Feliz de haber podedo ayudar !
OH YEAAAA
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but when I plug my guitar in it's always red, no matter where I turn the gain dial, maybe because my guitars volume knob is all the way up? Or maybe the computers sound level is to high?

I would assume the knob on the guitar is making a clip because if it’s hot right away with the guitar knob all the way down then it’s anything before that. I would try turning down the volume on the guitar until it’s green . The audio coming out of computer doesn’t affect anything of your interface (the ring) Only after if you put fxs like on the Apollo or in your DAW
Thank you. xoxo

Back 9 months later. Oh god zero progress for myself
GOD bless
so to turn the gain level down you turn the knob to right or left . Looks like your moving right, but at the end it looks like you are going left.

Facing your interface, Turning it Clockwise (Right) will turn up the volume of the microphone up If Phantom power is turned on but it will also raise the room floor (white Noise) so be mindful, Turning it Counterclockwise (Left) will Turn the level of the mic down, Though if the level looks right but you want to hear yourself louder than youll turn the volume knob not the gain knob . Hope this helped !
So can you use these settings for every song you make or do you have to change them up depending on your vocal chain? Lets say I want a song that requires a lot of reverb would I have to adjust this?

This is all preproduction all you’re going for here is the cleanest input from the microphone to your daw - Once you have a nice clean dry take that’s when you would then add your effects like reverb, etc.

How do I icrease my input sound. Mine is on fulblast and still stays green?

What type of microphone are you using ?

What software is he using?

I’m using Ableton - the Apollo is going through a software called CONSOLE by UAD which than goes through Ableton - the Focusrite goes straight to Ableton Live
