Sounds like the Vdrive is going bad. Mine sounded the same way and was replaced under warranty.

This was partly our water test to decide that... the vdrive has since been replaced. Thank you
How long does it take for the ballast to be filled?

on my 2020 it takes about 4 minutes from empty to full
24mph is too Fast for wakeboarding
