Music cast setup isn’t showing up in my WiFi

My WXC-50 does connect but won't let me play anything except songs stored on my computer. Im connected to Tidal and all songs there are greyed out.

My RX A1050 skips every 10 seconds when using my cell phone Bluetooth to play KZread and Spotify now. Any advice is appreciated, it skips one my friend uses his cell phone too. It didn't used to.

I wish it was that simple but nothing works for me, I get to the password stage and after typing that in the connect button doesn't do anything except make a clicking noise when I tap it and it wont progress on, its stuck there.

What a shame that setting up MusicCast easily worked 7 years ago and today, with RX-A6A, Yamaha does not even have a Manual which explains the process to use MusicCast. After 20 years using Denon, I already regret having chosen Yamaha for the basic configuration.

Hello, I recently purchased a Yamaha R-N402 Receiver. On page 25 of the manual it says under 'notes': You can transmit audio to bluetooth speakers or headphones using MusicCast. The audio output can only be selected from the MusicCast Controller. Where is this 'audio output' that allows me to listen to music via my bluetooth headphones? The product description of my receiver say that it can transmit and receive bluetooth signals.

Yup but Sonos doesn't play FLAC files and forces you to their shit player.

Mine won't connect. connection failed.

How can I play Google Play Music on this? I have playlists in Google Play Music and I have no way to play them on MusicCast. I don't see this capability in the app which is silly as Google is huge and their Play Music and KZread service has to be one of the biggest out there.

No it's not as simple as that! I've changed the output n the setup on my R-N602 to output to Bluetooth, but while the manual says this output can only be selected from the MusicCast app, there is seemingly nothing whatsoever in that app which enables you to pair with a Bluetooth device. Consequently I have a very expensive pair of Bose QC35 II's which are apparently utterly useless for the purpose for which I bought them.

Thank you for this video. I'm interested in getting a Yamaha AVR for my next setup due to MusicCast. I have one question though where I can not find a clear answer. If you set up your AVR to have 2 zones (zone 1 - 5.1 system) (zone2 - Stereo system) Will you be able to register each zone individually within the app and control it accordingly? You would help me a lot if you could confirm this. Cheers

I can't get past page 2 in music cast and it won't connect to receiver!

Apart from the app download, does the Musiccast system need an internet connection to work? I mean, a router wi-fi should work as a private network fully dedicated to Musiccast? And then I would use a second router wi-fi for my internet line?

I tried following your instructions but the receiver never showed up in my WiFi list to select. The receiver is a RX-679. It has MultiCast on the receiver. I need to turn on the Bluetooth transmitter to connect to a pair of Bluetooth headphones. In the receiver menu the Bluetooth SEND is not there. I was told it can be turned on from the MusicCast ASpp. Any tips would be appreciated. I am using a Android phone. To use MusicCast do your have to go through the complete setup again connecting to the receiver to make any changes on the MusicCastApp ? That would be a pain.

I have the Yamaha TSR-700. The instructions say to setup musiccast but I can't find a connect button. Know anything about that?

Airplay does not support the link function. Says I can play multiple rooms using Bluetooth. So how can I set that up?

In the device you are playing from (eg iTunes) you can directly choose multiple rooms to play. Check all the rooms you want to use and it should play in all checked rooms. (Again not in the musicast app but in the apple device directly)

@papaK. The RXV679 has MusicCast built in so it should work. The process may be slightly different than what's in this video since it was shot a few years ago. I have a Yamaha V685 with 5.2 surround and when watching TV my background is louder/ echoing than the voice sound, this happens on all settings except on 2 & 7ch stereo. I 'am thinking this is a minor control adjustment ...anyone know?

@ELIJAH4HIM From Yamaha: Some of the DSP modes are designed to sound like you are in a hall or stadium and can add this effect. I recommend being in the Surround Decoder or Auto mode and if it still persists, adjust the level of the rear speakers down. Hopefully this helps you solve the issue. Kind of bummed you need to use a phone for music cast. They should have a PC app too, or have on-screen controls through the hdmi/earc.

So I'm screwed with RX-V477 as they canceled netradio few years ago, and there is no possibility to stream music from youtube or so from phone and therefore that wifi function and remote control is completely useless :( .

@StanTrnik If you have an iPhone with Airplay you should still be able to stream from your phone to this receiver. If not, you will likely have to hardwire your source to the receiver.

Within the MusicCast App, Settings to Room Setting. Select your receiver and you'll see Firmware. It will tell you if the firmware is ready for an update or that it is already up to date.

RN-303 in CONNECT mode, but the MusicCastSetup network never appears. Now the display says “CONNECT Canceled” forevermore, apparently.

I have a yamaha rx v685 av receveid a few months ago and it has worked well. However, since yesterday the bluetooth doesn't work. When I select this function, the bluetooth symbol does not appear, and the worst thing is that the bluetooth cannot be recognized on my devices (tv, cell phone, among others). I don't know what is happening. The antennas are good, it seems. I cannot connect the music cast either. Do you know how i cant reactive the bluetooth function? Thanks for your support

so it's a setup of the Music Cast App,.. the the system... booh!

There is two problems: First each MusicCast speaker is $230.00 "OUCH"... Second I don't want to use "APPS" for pairing. I am not a mobile user. Connection should be automatic pairing. I just purchased a YAMAHA RX-A770 7.2-Ch x 95 Watts A/V Receiver and want to at-least have wireless rear speakers but aparently this model at $700.00 retail does not support rear wireless speakers only. I will wire the main front speakers and If anyone knows what I can use to connect wireless rear speakers that don't cost a arm and a leg and is reliable please let me know.

I bought a R-N602 Network Receiver today, tomorrow it's going back to the store. The installation of the WIFI is shitty, the instruction manual is done either by a newbie or a very advance engineer, anyway it's impossible to understand and follow the steps, I could not download the MusicCast app from Google play and I could not install the WIFI.. YAMAHA, you have some homework to do, because as it is, it's shit and doesn't work. I glad that I asked the salesman to writhe on the invoice that I could have a full refund. No more YAMAHA Network for me.

Photo Graphy ....I had similar problems. Fought it for about 3 hours and could not connect the app with a new Yamaha receiver. I sent it back. Reading reviews of many audio apps, they all appear to be about the same, quite spotty In effectiveness. And generally none are intuitive and user friendly. Please let me know if you find any good ones.

I like how the video doesn't explain how you have to go your setting and Network to enable your WiFi no wonder it keeps disconnecting.

This video is useless, probably completely outdated. It doesn't tell you that you have to enter of password, nor that you have to connect to a network (which one?). Then I get an error code. This is all very confusing and nothing is explained in that video.

Do not buy anything from them they will expect you as a paying customer to put more time and money in a product that they broke them self or cannot even accomplish what they promised out of the box and if you can’t their attitude is you’re screwed so please be aware save your money and buy something else

This is a terrible system. Unfortunately I invested in a Yamaha Musiccast receiver and three Musiccast speakers, trusting the Yamaha brand. Big mistake. The app barely works. 90 per cent of the time when I activate the app I have to go through the whole setup procedure again, and this usually fails. It's very frustrating and I deeply regret buying this system. When I contacted Yamaha about it they said all I had to do was update the firmware on the receiver. I did that successfully and it still doesn't work. Don't rush into this system. It's not worth your time or money.

I have the NR402 and MusicCast seemed to run fine, THEN I replaced the router with a more secure unit. I had to setup MusicCast up again, used both iPad and iPhone but could not get it to install. I found out why...when Yamaha created the MusicCast temp website, there is NO request for the 12345678 password. My browser indicated that the “website” was unprotected , no WPA etc. And there I was, locked out. My iPad Bluetooth works fine, so I think I just forget about MusicCast and move on.

This music app load of shit .Everytime I try to connect it kick me of the internet.

LOL. The app doesn't always work, the provider's help sectoin is a joke and is entirely USER INFRIENDLY, when there is a power outage of any sort with the internet, the entire app has to bs effectively re-installd, when rooms can no longer be found there is no way to find out how to get that lost room re-linked. It's a horrible app with very, very poor customer service and I would never waste money again with this very USER UNFRIENDLY service. This is the worst app I have ever used.

This a6a amp sucks. You have to be Albert Einstein to figure out how to use it. I hate it.
