That just means your carrier doesn’t support visual voicemail on iPhone. If you call your voicemail, you’ll be prompted to set it up if it isn’t set up already. If it is already set up then you will just hear any new voicemail messages played back to you.

Finally I figured it out. Not only did I have to use at least 7 digits on my Android but I had to go faster. I found out I couldn't hesitate on anything when doing this. So it took me several tries even with the 7 digits before I got fast enough and that did the trick.

This was just what I needed. I now have a phone greeting. Thank you so much!

So happy to finally find a video that shows how to set up voicemail. I do have one question though. When prompted to set up a 4-6 letter password, I chose a 6 number one. However, when the recording let me know that my password had been established, it gave me a 4 number password (which is not what I selected). So, I'm confused as to where the 4 letter password came from, as it wasn't what I had submitted (?).

I learned a lot. I am so happy now. I adore you.

Very important to have a unique PIN. It’s very easy to spoof a number nowadays, and if someone dials your number while spoofed as your number, they’ll be prompted with the voicemail menu and asked to enter the pin. If they guess it right (1234, 1111, 4321, etc.) they have unrestricted access to all of your voicemails which could have personal info or financial information.

@@bfnq If the voicemail is deactivated then there shouldn't be any voicemails for someone to listen to anyways. But that wouldn't stop someone from setting up a voice mailbox using the same method that I outlined above. Best thing you can do is just have a voice mailbox with a secure PIN.

The way iPhone voicemail is set up is easy straight to the point the way Samsung android phones voicemail is set up you have to do to much to set it up you have to dial your phone number and press a number for which language you want to hear it in and make a password that no one can figure out 🤷🏽‍♀️

iPhone voicemail greetings are so much easier to access. Not sure why every phone not do it that way.

I've seen many dramas where people are able to leave voice message right after dialing a number and the caller nvr pick up. They are able to say the voice message on the spot without it being pre-recorded, how do I go about doing this?

Tap on “call voicemail” and see if it needs to be set up. If your carrier or plan doesn’t support visual voicemail, then you will need to call your voicemail any time you want to check your messages.

Why doesn't Google learn the simplicity of setting voicemail up on iOS, for Android? On iOS, it's so much easier and doesn't involve going through a IVR.

They do have a Voicemail feature just like the iPhone App, it just wasn't compatible. I can't use the Visual Voicemail on the iPhone or on an android phone because my plan doesn't support it. I have to call instead.
