Trying to hook my Roku up to my TV again

I really like the Roku doorbell and am considering also buying the outdoor cameras.

I made sure I tested out the door bell camera before purchasing any more and I like it,0 problems,easy setup and wide so tomorrow we are buying the outside camera.

can i use the base station i already have?

Considering these cameras are identical to Wyze, they are crap. I swapped most of my Wyze over to these so I could view them on my ROKU TV, yet I had an emergency today and found out they do not have any playback from continuous recording like the Wyze ones. So I am going to return all my Roku cameras. I was told by an anonymous employee they killed the playback option to force subscription use for faster event recording.

This type of underhanded manipulation is why people create or locate ways to cheat systems of all kinds. Not because they're deadbeats, but just sick of the arm twisting manipulations by businesses.

@@SagerLoverThere’s really just better cameras out there tbh. Reolink comes to mind, and they’re barely 10$ more expensive. Not worth buying into Wyze or Roku.

Got mine 2 days ago and the base station is broke already. Will not light up when plugged in. It mist have burnt up. Cheap traah.

Where do I download saved events?

can the cameras be viewed on computer or ROKU devices hooked up to TV

Yep have them download the app, and have them sign in with the same info as the main account. Make sure they don't create a new account though.

Do i have to have a SD card for both the hub and camera? And what quality setting should it be on? sD, HD, auto

SD for camera if you want to record streams, don’t need for hub. Doesn’t matter on quality settings.

Camera won't work without a base. The cameras without base station are just add ons

BS.... I'm still trying to figure out the best SD Memory card for my outdoor wireless SE camera. Roku support told me to call them for set-up. They knew less than I did. Good lord.

All those cameras companies want to changed for using the cameras with wi-fi. I already paying for internet. I am bringing the camera back to Walmart.

Do u have to have the Ethernet cable connected .does anyone know ?

I have wireless WiFi and cannot get mine to connect. Instructions say to use cable. My router has no place to hook a cable. If you need to have a cable hooked up it should say so on the box.

That's not what this is, it's a motion detection camera , however you may be able to record everything with the paid service but I'm not sure. These only record events like people coming to your door .

Outside Camera with cord lost electric twice got it back on and ain't paid nothing now i got all this crap and cant get back in for nothing all i want my camera back on my been having problems here and I want to see what is going on

Why is the Ethernet cable plugged into the router's WAN port ? That sounds unnecessary. WAN ports are reserved for upstream service modems, such as a cable modem, or for cascading a router to another router. It should not be a requirement, unless the gateway is acting like a router or multiport LAN switch (which it isn’t).

That’s a good question- the Roku doorbell doesn’t require a base station or Ethernet cable plugged in so I wonder why the outdoor camera needs it.

I just bought one. I don't do directions, so here I am for a quick run through. I have 2 reolink cameras, 1 nest and one cheap one in my home. My nest and reolink completely crapped out, I've got some questionable neighbors, so I needed a replacement camera stat. Ran to Walmart, grabbed one of these, I noticed the ethernet cable, I figured it was for hard wiring or something? (Don't know much about electrics) But, NONE of my other cameras have this? You open the app, follow the screen it connects, the end. I would love to know why I need this as well!

Watch how it's mounted. This is not made to be mounted from the ceiling of porch as the video can't be flipped and everything is upside-down.

You can go in the settings and flip it around, I hope you didnt get rid of ur camera

Warning: this camera needs a router. If you have just Wi-Fi you cannot use it. On the box it states you only need Wi-Fi. Needs to be corrected to only needs a router.

Because they partnered with Wyze. Wyze cameras are rebranded Xiaomi cameras and Roku is rebranded from Wyze.

How can I take off the advertisement for the movie Bros on my home screen? It's inappropriate for it to be there we have children do I just need to return this TV and never buy your product again please advise

It’s totally frustrating w/ the ads- not just roku but Hulu and Xbox. Especially around Halloween, all the horror movies or shows are being advertised and we aren’t given options to opt out of content we just don’t want to see. I don’t put up w/ it anymore, we just use alternatives. Maybe see if Roku has a twitter account and ask there

There is a channel on KZread- Digital Trends, "roku hacks you aren't using" It explains how to change homescreens ext. I've always went to the menu and was able to do this pretty easily:) You can probably add a or click on a feature for R rated movies ext needing a parental password, and this to may help inappropriate ads playing

Maybe your router needs to be 2.4 GHZ instead of 5 GHZ, that's what happened to me so I bought a duel band router that was both 2.4 ghz and 5ghz and now it works.

I have cameras outside my house and I don’t paid one cent. Your Roku camera are going back to Walmart. I don’t want to paid fees that keep going up

I am making a cat shelter tomorrow and i am scratching my head for the type of camera to buy, i need one with pan and tilt with night vision and wifi that i can link to my desktop computer also i would like to not be obligated to change battery on the camera to not disturb my little feral buddies, any suggestion? Oh and i don't want subscription since i only want to see the cats on my desktop and not record the footage.

Very disappointed in Roku. The camera stopped showing recordings. I called Roku and they said I could only get notifications and only live video unless I bought a subscription from them. It is now only a sound and motion detection device I can't watch a recording.

Yeahh that's how most systems are. It even states you need a subscription to "enjoy" all the features . It even states that. They have other companies that have more of a affordable subscription for only $17 a year verses Roku is just about that same price monthly.

@@FaithSx07well that’s only for these crappy companies like Roku, Ring, and Wyze. If you actually want a real camera get a Reolink at the very least. The types of cameras from Wyze/Roku really aren’t meant for serious security.

This camera is a piece of crap. It doesnt notify you of anyone until the person is at your door and knocking on it. Doesnt detect cars in driveway. It always quits working and you have to keep re-pairing the two units. Total junk

No compren!!! Es una basura… si no pagas suscripción mensual no puedes tener videos y solo captura imágenes con delay del suceso. No graba en la memoria microsd. Si o si tienes que pagar suscripción para tener una cámara funcional 100%. Es un robo. 3,99usd por cámara mensual…. Sumado al costo de la cámara… compra cualquier otra cámara y no está. No pierdas tiempo ni dinero.

Eso verdad amigo no sirven y el precio es fatar no grava y si quiere que graves tiene que pagar tengo un n tv Smart ruko tratando si puedo comprar una que si graven y que tengan sind card por lo menos 128 pero ahora me dicen que no es elegible con otras camara cuando Fuy compré si era solo para vender me el tv arguing save un tv Smart que se pueda usar con cuál quier camara wifi déjame saver gracias estoy con Tigo amigo es verdad esto no sirve
