On my 55LS03B with HW-Q700B I had to also change the HDMI-eARC-mode to Auto (expert settings), by default this was set to disabled. This greatly improved the quality, before I had a lot of issues with sound synchronization, I had an echo which was really annoying.

This video is better than the one Samsung did for the product connection. Subscribed.

Having issues with e-arc and qsymphony on my 75" qled q82a. I used to have the tv+ hdmi(e-arc) option but since I did a factory reset it's gone. Also when I first turn on the TV, I soon afterwards get a notification on the screen that says that my Samsung q800a sound bar isn't connected in the e-arc port. I double checked and it's connected exactly where it should be. Starting to to think I will have to return this.

@Daniel Sasseville. If you haven't already, try updating the software on the TV. If that doesn't work, try unplugging it for 5 minutes and plug it back in. It sounds silly, but sometimes that's all it takes to get it up and running again. Your soundbar should play all TV audio if you hook it into an HDMI Arc port. That's what the arc port is designed to do.

@genesisperez3904 The TU7000 series does not have the Q Symphony feature built in, unfortunately, so you wouldn't have access to that setup.

I have my soundbar set up now,but could you help me please, when someone is talking on the tv etc,is it just the sound bar that I will get sound out of or should the base box as well be working at the same time? I mean the base box does work on certain scenes but not all the time when talking etc? Can you please help thanks

@Kieron Green The subwoofer is meant to help with lower frequencies. Dialog is usually found in the mid and high frequencies so you likely won't get much help from the subwoofer if you're only listening to dialog.

Samsung service tech replaced mother board trying to get Q symphony to work. Found out that Chromecast was turning Q symphony off when plugged in. Any ideas?

@leoncloud6683 No, Wi-Fi is not required to use Q Symphony. For that feature to work the TV needs to be connected to the soundbar with either an HDMI or optical cable.

@rmk22sr.2 If you have a surround setup that uses separate components then you would just turn the TV speaker off. This is only designed to work with Samsung soundbars that support the Q Symphony feature.

@scienceofone No, it won't function along with a surround system. It can only be used by itself, or you can add the optional wireless surround speakers to the soundbar, but you can't use the soundbar as an additional speaker in a surround system.

@felixm5319 Be sure to check if your TV and soundbar are both running their most up to date firmware. It's possible they just need to be updated. If that doesn't work, you may just need to perform a reset on both the TV and soundbar.

I have a qn90b w/QW-Q7CB(Q700) connected HDMI eARC. On the TV what should I have the Sound Mode set to, Standard, Surround, Adaptive, etc. ? Or does it matter. And can I just turn the sound bar off if I only want sound from the TV?

@opnlms The sound mode should be set to whatever setting you think sounds best based on what you're watching. Adaptive is nice because the soundbar will automatically select the setting based on what you're watching. You can turn the soundbar off if you want to just listen to the TV speakers, but the soundbar should offer better sound for any situation so it's best to leave it turned on when you're watching TV.

How does the Q-Symphony surround sound (using my TV setting on my Q60A) differ from the "surround" setting on my soundbar (Q700A)? Isn't that the point of using a soundbar for surround sound? Is one better than the other?

@dpoliseno. The Q Symphony feature is designed to add depth to the audio by using the TV speakers in conjunction with the soundbar speakers. If you're using the surround setting on the soundbar and don't have Q Symphony set up on the TV you won't get any sound out of the TV speakers. One is not necessarily better than the other. I'd suggest trying both setups to see which you like better as people have different opinions on the feature. Thanks for watching!

The multi audio is only for Bluetooth connection. I tried this and the led said BT. They did work but serious echo. I have turned on all options for Qsymphony or called TV + soundbar hdmi. I tried everything. Unplugged TV, soundbar all cables. It just won't connect.

My QN90A doesn’t give me the option to have tv and soundbar? I’m lost as it’s QLED and should support it.

@Reece Lord. There are a couple things to check. First, you'll need to make sure your soundbar is Q-Symphony compatible as well. Second, you need to use an HDMI or optical cable for connection. This feature does not work with bluetooth. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!

I have a problem with mine where it used to work fine, but recently when I turn off my TV and soundbar, and then turn it back on, it reverts back to sound from the soundbar alone. When I go into the TV sound settings, it shows very briefly that it was setup for TV +soundbar, but switches immediately to soundbar only. I canchange it again to TV + soundbar, but next time I turn it OFF and back ON, it's back to soundbar only. I don't remem,ber changing any other settings, so I don't understand why the "TV + soundbar" setting does not stick.

@sergeboivin566 If you haven't already, you may want to try running an update on both the TV and soundbar. It's possible one of them updated and the other didn't so they aren't talking to each other properly.

Thanks for the video. I have a Samsung Q80A QLED TV with a Samsung Q70T soundbar. TV speaker sound is fine and soundbar sound is great. But when I set up QSymphony and set it to the TV and soundbar option, all I'm getting is sound from the soundbar. No sound is coming out of the TV speakers. This is despite the TV showing "TV and Q70T soundbar eArc" scrolling on the left side of my TV (next to the volume numbers) when I raise the volume. I am connected via HDMI port 3 on the back of the TV which is the eArc one and that HDMI cable is plugged into the HDMI eArc port on the soundbar. It seems the connections are correct and the HDMI cable is fine because I do get sound from the soundbar fine. Just no QSymphony sound from the soundbar AND the TV at the same time. Any thoughts?

I have the exact same problem! By themselves both the tv speakers and soundbar works fine, but when I try to get q-symphony to work, it only comes sound from the bar. Really disturbing, and dont know how to fix this.

@@ayushskull007 Thank you for the info. The question I have is where that "Multi Audio" setting is located in the Menus? If I go into the gear Settings (all the way on the left...the gear icon), click the center button, which then brings up the settings. I go down to "Sound", and select it. This then brings up the Sound window, which has the following: Sound Output: TV + [AV]Soundbar Q70T(HDMI-eARC) Sound Mode: "Adaptive Sound" (this is selected, and the only other option available here is "Game"). Expert Settings Then, if I go into "Expert Settings", I have the following settings: - Woofer & Equalizer - HDMI-eARC Mode: set to AUTO - Digital Output Audio Format: set to AUTO (PCM is available, Pass-Through is not selectable) - Digital Output Audio Delay: set to 100 -Dolby Atmos Compatibility: set to ON - Auto Volume: set to ON (can't change this) - Sound Feedback: set to LOW and there's a few other non-related settings that I don't think would affect Q-Symphony. What's interesting is that when selecting the sound option from the upper horizontal menu (instead of selecting the gear icon), I scroll to the right, where the round "Sound Output" icon is. I pick the TV + [AV]Soundbar Q70T(HDMI-eARC) option, and the Q-Symphony icon is there. So unlike other people on the forums that had similar problems, their problem was that the "TV + [AV]Soundbar Q70T(HDMI-eARC)" option never shows up for them. Well mine does show up fine...it's just it doesn't work. There are 5 small dots for the different sound options I have under the "Sound Output" icon. They are as follows: TV Speaker [AV] Soundbar Q70T TV+[AV] Soundbar Q70T(HDMI-eARC) (this is what I have selected) TV+[AV] Soundbar Q70T(Wi-FI) Optical Finally, I tested out several different HDMI cables and no difference. I am using an HDMI2.1 cable, and there's no other connections...it goes directly from the HDMIe-ARC port on the soundbar to the HDMI 3 e-ARC port on the TV. I have updated the firmware using the Samsung Smartthings app for both the TV and the soundbar. It's pretty frustrating, but I again appreciate anyone's help.

@@ayushskull007 . Hi. Same issue here. I had a non Qsymphony soundbar so I unplugged it and plugged in a Q600A with eARC on TV and only ARC on the soundbar. So I saw your advice and went to multi audio. It was showing the old S60 I had connected. I deleted it from the list and added the Q600 but it's only showing up as 60A and it seems it's a Bluetooth connection so I added it. So went back to settings sound and now there is no option for tv+ soundbar now. So that didn't work. UPDATE got it to work but only in Bluetooth and with a Echo. What's going on???

I have an issue I would like to ask about. I have a Samsung QN90A tv and a Samsung Q800A sound bar. Both are Q Symphony compatible. I have an HDMI 2.1 cable, as well as an optical cable. I can’t get Q symphony to work with the HDMI cable via eARC, but I can with the optical. The instructions seem very simple, but even with adjusting sound options and trouble shooting, I can’t get Q Symphony to work with the HDMI cable eARC.

I had the same problem QN60A TV and Q800A soundbar. I have AppleTV4K 2nd Gen. When going through Soundbar no TV+HDMI (Q-Symphony). I put the AppleTV into HDMI 1 with Q800A going into HDMI 2 eArc and the TV+HDMI setting appeared in Settings > Sound on the TV.

I'm thinking the Q Symphony must be faulty with my S95C OLED and Q800C soundbar? When I have TV + Soundbar (HDMI-eARC) selected I only have audio coming from the soundbar but not from the TV and soundbar both, i have no audio at all coming from the tv itself. i had to test it with a stethoscope listening on the back of TV at all of the tv speaker locations and definitely have no audio coming from the TV speakers unless I disconnect or turn off the soundbar.

@@amitdommeti6924 so the response I got from Samsung support is basically is if unless the show you are watching is in surround sound you will only get sound from the soundbar. So if the audio is stereo only only get sound from the sounbar the only way to get it to actually do Q Symphony is to swith the audio out to TV Soundbar-Wi-Fi not Soundbar eARC-HDMI.

@Kieron Green We saw your other comments, but it looks like you were able to get Q-Symphony working based on this one. The difference isn't going to be huge, but it allows the vocals to come through more clearly and should also provide a bit more spaciousness to the audio.

How to set up when using a playstation 5?

Edit: found the solution. Had to unplug other hdmi cables first, from other devices. It then worked again. Hi I can't make it work again after I reset my tv today. It doesn't show the option TV+AV again. It did before. I tried EVERYTHING but I can't make it work again. The first time I only had to plug it in and it showed me the option and switched itself. But now it doesn't show me the option at all. It's only "soundbar(HDMI-eARC)" ITs like it doesn't notice that ita a Samsung soundbar...

Can you elaborate on why one would decide to use an optical cable over HDMI eARC? As far as I know, optical cable is outdated and limits you to 5.1 channels.

HDMI passthrough limits you to 4K 60HZ. I want to use 4K 120HZ VRR for a gaming PC hooked up to my :75 QLED so optical for me. I am unaware of any soundbars that can do 4K 120HZ passthrough but soon there will be some however they will probably be pricey at first.

@@jock8523 No I gave up. Even though the pop up say's, tv+ soundbar on, I'm not getting sound from the TV speakers. Now I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the sound output from a movie or content alone but I tried with a 4k movie, streaming and standard TV broadcast and still nothing.

@mariodubario7835 This feature only works if you're hooked up with an Optical or HDMI cable. If you're connected through bluetooth the sound will not come out of both TV and soundbar. If you're connected with one of those cables, you may need to try a different cable to make sure that's not the problem. I restart all my tv and now is d’heure Q- symphony but for me the song of tv is very low maybe is like that 🤔 And the hdmi cable is the cable I recieve in the box of the barsound so normally is the good cable and is Connect on the hdmi 3 (earc) Thanks

Any tips to deal with the echo effect? I can't seem to sync the tv and the sound bar. I notice the echo on netflix via Xbox series X, and games like Far Cry 6 has a delay. For example when firing a gun the sound will come after the animation. I've tried adjusting the sync via the QN90A tv, and the HW-Q700A sound bar w/ SWA-9500s rear kit. Thanks in advance.

There's also a audio sync setting on the soundboard itself . It's in the same setting as the treble, bass, . Just hit setting button on soundboard remote and go through them . It'll show you on the tiny soundboard screen

@Aash Royal No, you'd only do one or the other, not both. But for Q Symphony to work you have to use one of those. It will not work if you have the TV connected to the soundbar through Bluetooth.

@kanedafx1 These aren't designed for use with a PC, but if yours has an optical out or an HDMI ARC port then you can. However, you won't be able to use the Q Symphony feature with a PC. @Omer Bari. This feature will only work with a Samsung TV and soundbar that both have the Q-Symphony feature. Be sure to double check that both of your products have that capability. Also, this feature will only work if you're connected with an HDMI or Optical cable. It will not work with a Bluetooth connection. @Josh Green The least expensive model with Q Symphony at the moment is the HWS60B: bit.ly/3QDfNCp however that one doesn't come with a subwoofer. If you want a setup that comes with a sub in the box, the HWQ60B is the way to go: bit.ly/3Rocb8n

On very high end soundbars, Q-Symphony actually makes things worse. It messes up Atmos and spatial audio.

no comment on why you chose 'Adaptive' sound mode vs 'Surround'??.............

@John K. That will be a personal choice depending on what you like best. For the purpose of this video we just left it on Adaptive.

It keeps disconnecting After 3 seconds and uses only the speaker audio

I wish it was that simple... I just bought a SAMSUNG QE65QN85AATXXC 65" 4K Neo QLED Smart-TV 2021, and the Samsung Q810A Soundbar. The are compatible with q-symphony. The speakers work great by thenselves, but not combined. I see in the display/menue that the q-symphony option is available, but when I click on it, it only comes sound from the soundbar, and never from the tv. This is very disturbing and the Samsung support have tried to help me without any luck.

You will have to enable multi audio and Q Symphony in Settings for sound to come from both tv and soundbar ......

@Daniel Englund ... same thing with me. I have a 65" QN65Q80AAF QLED TV and an HW-Q70T soundbar. Both have Q-Symphony and confirmed on Samsung's website that they're both compatbile with each other. @Ayush Gulati mentioned the same thing to me. But I replied to my comment above that I'm not sure where that option is located in the TV menus. Hoping Ayush can assist both of us.

With Q-Symphony, sound should come from both tv and soundbar but if it doesn't, there are other ways to choose the speaker to both

Q symphony doesnt work w atmos or dts. It only works when you plug media player to tv and not media player to soundbar. Big time screw up on Samsung's part. So you cant utilize q symphony w your surround sound, how stupid Samsung. Who just wants to use q symphone when you are only watching televison??
