Thanks for this. One point of clarity though - when would you use Intrusion over Tripwire and vice versa? Surely you can create the same effect only with tripwires, or am I missing something?

Tripwires do not have to be connected, they are seperated and can be use dijointedly. The intrusion box is simply an easier way to create a box while directionally marking and organizing ruletypes. You can for isntance, have both tripwire and intrusion rules, simply having them categorized allows the user to categorize further their alerts. thanks for reaching out!

Do you know if there is a way to have the NVR or Camera perform repeated triggers while a human or vehicle is within the intrusion zone? As far as I can tell, mine seems to only triggers when the intrusion is detected and if the person / vehicle stayed in the intrusion area for extended time the trigger seems to end unless a new intrusion is detected.

Hi Brendan. The intrusion and tripwires function only know that an object has crossed the area, or appeared in it due to changes in pixels. Until another cross or change is detected the system can only send a trigger per each actual detection. There is no way to increment the detection period. In fact, most of the time IVs and tripwires are used instead of motion detection specifically to avoid so many alerts. They are in fact by nature designed not to over-trigger and avoid false/spam alerting. If you prefer multiple alerts or a more dedicated seek period to an event, motion detection in tandem with IVS might be a better option. Thanks for reaching out with your great question!

Perhaps you can add multiple trip lines set bi-directionally (almost like a ladder) in your primary detection zone?

Does the trip wire work at night? Doesn't seem to notify even though Picks up the image.

Notifications and record schedules are separate settings. Access notifications settings from the app itself, and access the schedule from the storage menu for the record. For more information contact our support team by using the live chat at the bottom right-hand corner of www.securityucameraking.com You may have to specifically enable notifications from IVS and tripwire right on the app.

@@Securitycamerakingcom thanks for your reply. The notifications seems to work when you set the the SMD Motion Detection however no notification for the tripwire. It's annoying as the SMD Motion Detection includes those outside the tripline I.e on the footpath. The tripline doesn't seem to engage at night.. the blue outline tripwire turns red during day time..however not at night time. Any advice will be greatly appreciated..thanks

Bill, this was done in a browser (Internet Explorer, in this example.) If your Elite unit does not look like this when you log in to the web browser, you are likely on an older firmware unit or are using an entirely different manufacturer. I have a dahua 4116 nvr with cameras IP. When i want to go to menu, ai... Parameters, smart plan and there i received a message that Said nota channel.connected... any idea?

​@@mechamou Make sure you're on the correct channel and remember whatever feature you are trying to access also has to be supported by the camera itself (IVS, Facial Recognition SMD+ etc). It would also have to be a Dahua camera, if you're trying to use those features on a 3rd party camera it will never work. Beyond that, you're best off contacting your Dahua vendor or perhaps doing some research over at the dahuawiki.
